Tejashwi welcomes baby boy, Mamata calls him ‘harbinger of good fortune'

1 2 Patna: Leader of opposition in Bihar assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, and his wife Rajshree Yadav have welcomed their second child, a baby boy, at a Kolkata hospital, bringing a moment of joy to the Yadav household amid ongoing political tensions. Tejashwi shared the news on X on Tuesday and wrote, "Good morning! The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!" The arrival comes as the Yadav family grapples with controversy following Lalu Prasad's decision to expel his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the RJD and disown him over a contentious social media post. Still, Tej Pratap was among the first to publicly extend his congratulations. "Shri Banke Bihari ji ki asim kripa... chote bhai Tejashwi aur Rajshree Yadav ko Hardik badhai evam shubhkamnayein," he posted, also offering blessings to his newborn nephew. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee visited the Park Street hospital in Kolkata to bless the child and extend her support to the family. Standing beside Tejashwi, she said, "Since the parents are so beautiful, the baby has to be adorable. Chunav bhi hai aur ye bacha shubhkamna lekar aya hai." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning For Working Professionals. Mamata, who referred to herself as the couple's "local guardian in Kolkata", said she had been in regular touch with the family. "Tejashwi messaged me last night and I promised I would visit. It was a pleasure to meet them today... Seeing both mother and child in good health brought immense happiness," she said. Tejashwi said Rajshree had been in Kolkata throughout her pregnancy. The couple already have a daughter, Katyayani. "Today is Tuesday, the day of Hanuman ji. It is an auspicious and joyful moment for us," he said, adding that the family had yet to finalise a name for the child. "All suggestions will be given to the head of the family, Lalu ji, for the final decision," he said. Political leaders across party lines also extended their wishes. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar posted on X, "Shri Tejashwi Yadav ji ko putra ke janm par hardik badhai evam shubhkamnayein." BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal and several others also offered congratulations.
