3 domestic helps held for violent heist in Ambabari
Jaipur: City police Monday arrested three men who posed as domestic helps and fled with Rs 1.5 after committing a violent robbery at a house in the Ambabari area of Vidhyadhar Nagar on March 3. The accused tied up and assaulted a 45-year-old woman before decamping with diamond-studded gold jewellery worth several to SHO (Vidhyadhar Nagar) Rakesh Khyaliya, the accused worked under false identities and targeted affluent households. "They earned the trust of their employers and then executed the crime with precision. A manhunt was launched across the city, and after examining scores of CCTV camera footage, we managed to arrest them. Several stolen valuables have been recovered," said accused were identified as Inderjeet Kumar Gupta, Ashok Mandal, and Radheshyam Mandal — all residents of Bihar. Police said the trio assaulted the woman at her residence on April 3, tied her hands, gagged her, and fled with jewellery and other items. The men would secure jobs as domestic workers under fake names, often using forged documents. After gaining the household's trust, they would strike and vanish. After the Ambabari robbery, they fled Rajasthan and crossed into Nepal, using local SIM cards to on technical inputs, police teams were formed and deployed across different locations. Inderjeet was apprehended in Agra, while Ashok and Radheshyam were arrested in Bihar with the help of local police.

32 chain snatchers held in city for targeting people at religious event
1 2 Jaipur: Jaipur police Thursday arrested 32 suspects, including 27 women, for allegedly arriving from different parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab with the intent to commit chain snatching during the Shiv Mahapuran Katha at Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium. According to SHO (Vidhyadhar Nagar) Rakesh Khyaliya, the arrested individuals came from Bharatpur, Deeg, Mainpuri, Agra, and Sangrur. They mingled with the crowd during the large religious gathering to commit thefts. The event saw heavy footfall, particularly of women, making it a soft target for snatchers. Acting on intelligence inputs and prior alerts about known snatching gangs targeting such events, more than 100 officers were deployed in plain clothes to track suspicious movements. The teams identified and detained the suspects during the Kalash Yatra and ceremonial processions, where several incidents of chain and mangalsutra snatching were reported Wednesday and Thursday. Police said the suspects arrived in Jaipur a day before the event, conducted reconnaissance of the area, and blended in with the devotees. "The crowd gave them cover, but their suspicious behaviour gave them away. However, inconsistencies led to their detention. Their mobile phones are being scanned to verify travel history and communication records, which police believe may lead to more arrests. Investigations are also underway to locate their accommodation and identify other accomplices. Officials said these gangs typically travel ahead of large-scale events, plan exits in advance, and operate in small coordinated groups. Police have increased deployment at the venue and are urging devotees to remain alert, especially in crowded areas.
