Ministry of Finance Launches Four Humanitarian Initiatives During Ramadan
Upholding its commitment to social responsibility, the Ministry of Finance has launched four humanitarian and social initiatives during the Holy Month of Ramadan. These initiatives, Ramadan Mir, Supporting Humanitarian Cases, Inspired by Zayed's Generosity, and Eid Gifts on Us , align with the objectives of the "Year of Community 2025", aimed at fostering social solidarity and supporting vulnerable groups. Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, emphasized that these initiatives not only provide direct assistance but also promote a culture of volunteerism and strengthen public-private partnerships. He stated, 'These efforts are fully aligned with the Year of Community 2025, reflecting our dedication to delivering lasting, positive change.' The "Ramadan Mir" initiative, held in collaboration with the Family Care Authority and the Emirates Red Crescent, saw over 50 volunteers from the Ministry distributing essential food baskets to families in need. In partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent, the "Supporting Humanitarian Cases" initiative provided financial aid for individuals facing critical health conditions, with contributions from Ministry employees helping to cover urgent medical expenses. Commemorating Zayed Humanitarian Day, the "Inspired by Zayed's Generosity" initiative reached over 1,500 underprivileged individuals, particularly blue-collar workers, through large-scale Iftar campaigns organized alongside the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Zakat Fund, and Emirates Red Crescent. Concluding its Ramadan programme, the "Eid Gifts on Us" initiative, in collaboration with the Rashid Centre for People of Determination, brought joy to 50 individuals with Eid gifts—reinforcing values of compassion and inclusion. Inspired by the values of generosity and unity instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, the initiative involved organising Iftar campaigns primarily aimed at supporting blue-collar workers.
