Central to the presentations were 'Rammas', DEWA's AI-driven virtual employee, and 'Rammas at Work', which supports operations across power generation, transmission, distribution, and customer services. DEWA also spotlighted its early adoption of generative AI technologies, including Microsoft's Power Platform, 365 Copilot, and Security Copilot. As the first government entity in the UAE to integrate these tools, and among the first utilities globally, DEWA shared insights into its strategies for seamless AI implementation through its digital arm, Moro Hub. More than 100 students from DEWA Academy engaged in the event's interactive workshops, gaining hands-on experience with AI applications. Dubai, UAE: As part of its dynamic agenda as a strategic partner of 'Dubai AI Week', Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) participated in a wide range of discussion sessions and interactive workshops where its experts highlighted the various applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing the efficiency of vital sectors, particularly energy and water. The sessions focused on DEWA's remarkable achievements in adopting computer-using agents and AI agents. These include Rammas, DEWA's virtual employee supported by AI and ChatGPT, and 'Rammas at Work', which powers a range of services across divisions such as Generation (Power & Water), Transmission and Distribution Power and Customer Services. DEWA's experts discussed the various AI applications being leveraged to improve operational efficiency, including smart grid solutions, the Billing Services AI Specialist, the Customer Happiness AI, the LinkedIn Learning AI Agent for Employee Development and IT support services. The sessions also highlighted DEWA's success in adopting generative AI technologies, including the Microsoft Power Platform and smart assistants like Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Security Copilot. DEWA is the first government organisation in the UAE to adopt these advanced technologies from Microsoft and one of the first utilities worldwide to embrace Microsoft's Copilot. The session led by Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of DEWA, covered the key strategies used to ensure the smooth integration and efficient management of AI technologies to maximise benefits. More than 100 DEWA Academy students also participated in various sessions and workshops designed to equip them with essential knowledge and skills related to AI tools and applications, encouraging them to innovate and be creative. This supports the preparation of a qualified generation capable of leading an AI-based future in Dubai. As part of its participation, DEWA is showcasing its AI strategy, which includes a roadmap to become the world's first AI-native utility by integrating AI across electricity and water production, transmission, and distribution. DEWA's initiatives, such as Rammas—its AI-powered virtual assistant—highlight its efforts to boost operational efficiency and enhance customer experience. At Area 2071, DEWA is also highlighting partnerships through Moro Hub to promote smart, sustainable solutions. Meanwhile, DEWA Academy is contributing to the AI Week in Schools initiative, introducing students and educators to AI skills and fostering future-ready talent. Centre organises educational programmes, activities and practical experiences in sustainability Dubai: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Sustainability and Innovation Centre enhances the knowledge of schoolchildren and university students on sustainability and clean energy through various educational activities, interactive presentations and practical experiences. This supports DEWA's commitment to fostering community awareness and education. The centre aims to equip students with knowledge and hands-on experience according to the highest global standards, supporting academic progress and inspiring them to pursue sustainable career paths. Since its establishment, the centre has welcomed more than 30 academic institutions across various educational levels and organised numerous sessions, workshops and programmes. These initiatives have helped thousands of students deepen their theoretical understanding and enhance their practical skills in solar energy and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. The educational initiatives also extend to differently-abled children. The centre simplifies complex scientific concepts through interactive presentations and innovative experiments tailored to the educational needs of different age groups. "In line with our efforts to empower youth and enhance their knowledge and expertise in clean and renewable energy, DEWA's Sustainability and Innovation Centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park provides an ideal learning environment. This supports young people's capabilities and prepares them to address future challenges by encouraging innovation and the development of sustainable solutions. These efforts accelerate the transition towards clean energy and support net-zero goals. "To achieve this, we build strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions and start-ups both locally and internationally. Our aim is to provide young people with access to cutting-edge global technologies and practices in the energy sector. Youth empowerment is a cornerstone of comprehensive and sustainable development,' said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. DEWA's virtual employee Rammas has become a superduper star thanks to the adulation of the pupils. Visitors to the centre can enjoy innovative drone and hologram shows and participate in interactive experiences, such as riding an autonomous bus. Through Metaverse technology, visitors can take a virtual tour of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world based on the independent power producer (IPP) model, and explore the latest advancements in clean energy technologies. The centre's first-floor exhibition area showcases DEWA's history, major innovations in electricity and recent advancements in sustainable energy. This includes over 30 interactive exhibits highlighting developments in renewable energy, a DEWA Museum, water desalination plants and a visual space explaining the properties of light and solar radiation. Exhibits also feature critical components of photovoltaic solar cells, concentrated solar power (CSP) and solar power tower technologies. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA Additionally, visitors can learn about DEWA's renewable energy journey, smart DEWA initiatives, solar cell applications in space exploration and the development of DEWA's sustainable buildings. The Sustainability and Innovation Centre welcomes visitors from Saturday to Wednesday, 9am to 4pm, and Thursdays from 9am to 12pm. Hologram shows are held every Sunday and Wednesday at 10:30am and 2:30pm. Discounts are available for children and students, with free admission for People of Determination.
