Amitabh Bachchan is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. The legendary actor has given hit films and has made a name for himself. However, when it comes to his brother Ajitabh Bachchan, he is poles apart from Big B. Ajitabh is a business tycoon and never had an interest in acting. Similarly, his wife and Amitabh Bachchan's sister-in-law Ramola Bachchan is not an actor but a businesswoman. Do you know that even before Ramola got married to Ajitabh, she was a close friend of Amitabh Bachchan?
Yes, you read that right! In fact, Amitabh has played a key role in making Ramola and Ajitabh meet. Amitabh and Ramola used to be close friends and the duo often met at home. Eventually, Ramola met Ajitabh and the two became good friends. Later, they fell in love and got married.
Recently, in an interview, Ramola opened up about her and Amitabh's friendship. She said she met Amitabh when he was working in Kolkata and was not an actor. Ramola said, 'We moved in the same circle and were very good friends. It was through him that I met Ajitabh.' She further added, 'It was pure friendship. This was in the 1960s, before he had thought of joining the films. I think he had a secret yearning for films, but it was not prominent then.'
Ramola even praised Amitabh and called him a 'family man.' She continued and said that Big B's commitment towards his family is extremely important. She said, 'He is very good at remembering special family occasions. In spite of his very busy life, he never fails to remember family occasions. He calls us and wishes us from wherever he is.'
She added, 'Our children get on with him very well. They know and respect him as their uncle, but they also have a very informal relationship with him. He has the capacity of coming down to their level, chatting with them, having fun with them.'
Ramola Bachchan has her own event management company named Ramola Bachchan Concepts, and a fashion label called First Resort. Additionally, she has worked as a fashion designer for films like Don.
