28 Apr - K-pop group BOYNEXTDOOR has now been appointed the world global ambassadors of the FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship. The Philippine National Volleyball Federation and Asian Volleyball Confederation president Ramon Suzara announced the news recently, saying, "We have carefully reviewed and decided on the selection of BOYNEXTDOOR, as a truly pivotal move in elevating the global profile of volleyball and igniting excitement for the event." "With the championship proudly hosted in the Philippines, this partnership presents an incredible opportunity to engage fans across the world, with the BOYNEXTDOOR's unique appeal and dynamic global influence to attract a wider and more diverse audience profile." The group, consisting of Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan and Woonhak, will be headlining the opening ceremony on 12 September at Manila's Mall of Asia Arena. Meanwhile, BOYNEXTDOOR stated that they are excited to be the global ambassadors, and that it was meaningful since the South Korean national team is participating as well. "We will do our utmost to help many people feel inspired by volleyball and experience its charm. KUWAIT CITY, March 8: Kazma now leads the Kuwait Volleyball League standings alone after securing a dominant 3-0 victory over Al-Sulaibikhat (25-21, 25-20, 25-19) in their recent matchup at the Volleyball Association Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. Al-Qadisiya also claimed a comfortable straight-sets win over Al-Yarmouk (25-10, 25-12, 25-16). With this latest victory, the "Orange" remains unbeaten with 21 points from seven matches, while Al-Shabab dropped to second place with 18 points. Meanwhile, "Sons of Ahmadi" will face the Kuwait Club at 9:00 pm. Kuwait Club sits third in the standings with 15 points from five matches. Al-Qadsiya holds fourth place with 12 points, followed by Al-Nasr (11 points), Zubairgan and Al-Arabi (9 points each), Al-Sulaibikhat (6 points), Al-Yarmouk (5 points), Al-Tadamon (3 points), and Al-Sahel (2 points). In other news, the Asian Volleyball Federation Coaches Committee held its first meeting via video conference, led by Federation President Ramon Suzara of the Philippines. The meeting focused on strategies to develop volleyball coaching across Asia. Committee member Badr Al-Kous revealed that five proposals aimed at improving coaching standards were approved during the meeting. Among the key initiatives is the establishment of volleyball academies across the five regions of the Asian Federation to enhance youth development in the sport.
