Tanuj Virwani calls working on 'Rana Naidu 2' a phenomenal experience: 'I am cautiously optimistic'
Actor Tanuj Virwani , who will be seen in "Rana Naidu" Season 2, has been a "massive fan" of the first season. He said he had a phenomenal experience shooting and that he was cautiously optimistic about the second installment of the series. Tanuj said: "The experience has been truly phenomenal. I am a massive fan of the first season. In fact, I used to keep pestering Karan Anshuman who is also my showrunner for all 3 seasons of Inside Edge. I used to tell him to give me a role as I really wanted to be a part of his special universe." He added: "It doesn't matter what he wrote for me as I always knew he would write something nice for me. Cut to a few months, he was back. He said that he's developing something and he thought I would be fit for that part. So he asked me to catch up and discuss more. When I heard the narration, I loved what he had written for me and I knew I could bring something different to the table. I am always excited to try new and different stuff." The actor said that when there are "handful of scenes" and the "role" is pivotal to the larger narrative, "it can freeze you off the shackles." "When you are the main lead in a show or a film, there's more added responsibility on your shoulders and maybe that chance to experiment and freedom is a little less. But, when you are in a handful of scenes and your role is very important to the larger narrative, it can freeze you off the shackles." He added: "That's what this role of Chirag Oberoi in ' Rana Naidu Season 2 ' offered me. I am cautiously optimistic and I hope the audience enjoys watching it as much as I enjoyed being a part of it." Talking about other cast members, he said: "We also have some fantastic additions. Kriti Kharbanda and I are playing brothers and sisters, Rajat Kapoor is playing our father. There's a very interesting dynamic between the three of us and I truly can't wait for 13th June." "Rana Naidu" Season 2 is set to stream on Netflix from June 13. "Rana Naidu" is an action crime drama television series directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma. It is the official adaptation of the 2013 American crime drama TV series Ray Donovan. It stars Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati (as the title character), Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra and Surveen Chawla in lead roles. The series was released on 10 March 2023.

Venkatesh returns as the ‘Man of Chaos' in ‘Rana Naidu Season 2,' premiering June 13
Tollywood icon Venkatesh is gearing up for his much-anticipated return to the OTT space with Rana Naidu Season 2, set to premiere on Netflix on June 13, 2025. Sharing screen space once again with his nephew Rana Daggubati, the gritty crime drama is back with more intense drama, family friction, and emotional turmoil. Venkatesh reprises his role as Naga Naidu, a character he describes as a 'man of chaos.' Speaking about the contrasting nature between himself and his on-screen persona, Venky explained, 'I'm predictable, Naga isn't. I like structure and stability. Naga? He lives for drama. I don't play mind games, but Naga, he's full of surprises. There's always something simmering with Naga. You can't look away.' Venky added that while both he and Naga deeply care about family, the way they express it couldn't be more different. He considers himself a man who values clarity and order, whereas Naga thrives on tension, unpredictability, and layered emotions. The second season of Rana Naidu promises an even more riveting ride with a stellar cast that includes Arjun Rampal, Surveen Chawla, and Kriti Kharbanda in key roles. Directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma, the show continues to be the Indian adaptation of the popular American series Ray Donovan. Last Updated: Actor Surveen Chawla has revealed disturbing details about the casting couch, including a shocking incident where a director attempted to kiss her after a meeting. Actor Surveen Chawla, known for her powerful performances and fierce honesty, has once again spoken out about the grim underbelly of the entertainment industry. In a recent interview with The Male Feminist, Chawla opened up about facing multiple instances of harassment, both before and after marriage—including a particularly unsettling encounter with a director who tried to kiss her after a professional meeting. 'I must have experienced the casting couch multiple times," Chawla said. 'I will tell you a tale about Mumbai's Veera Desai Road only. After the meeting at his office cabin, he came to see me off at the gate, and this was after I got married. And the strange thing was that we talked about this in the meeting also." Recalling the moment, she shared, 'He asked me how it was going and what my husband did, and it was just us speaking inside his cabin because he had a big office. So, when I came to the door to say bye, he leaned towards me trying to kiss, and I had to push him back. I was startled and asked him what he was doing, and I just walked off." But this wasn't a one-off incident. Chawla also opened up about another deeply disturbing episode that occurred in the South Indian film industry. The actor revealed, 'There was a director who couldn't speak Hindi or English, so he used a friend as an interpreter. Through this friend, he basically told me that I had to sleep with him during the shoot." These candid revelations echo her earlier remarks about being judged unfairly in the industry, particularly for her physical appearance. In a previous interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, Chawla disclosed that she was body-shamed during auditions. 'They said I was too fat for South Indian films," she had said. 'Women in the industry are often judged unfairly and made to feel low about themselves because of how they look." Despite these dehumanizing experiences, Surveen Chawla has continued to carve out a strong career. Her recent performances in Criminal Justice Season 4 have been praised by audiences and critics alike. She is now gearing up for her return in Rana Naidu Season 2 on Netflix, where she stars opposite Rana Daggubati. First Published:
