Daytimers set to return to former Maestro's Club for one night only
PEOPLE can relive their youth at a special event dedicated to Bradford's iconic daytimers.
Back in the 80s and 90s, daytimers were a Bhangra-inspired music scene which became an escape for Asian DJs and ravers.
Despite originating in London, Bradford ended up becoming a cultural mecca for daytime raves.
The legacy of the South Asian music movement will live on from 6pm on Friday, June 13.

It will be a party turned family-friendly showcase celebrating Bradford's rich diverse Desi musical heritage.
There will be a nostalgia exhibit featuring archival photos, flyers, and memorabilia, food, and display of classic cars including Datsun 120Ys and XR3i Turbos.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Bradford's Daytimers scene wasn't just about the beats—it was a response to the challenges faced by the British-Asian community in a time of social unrest.
"This event revisits the roots of that underground movement, influencing generations locally and globally."
