Long Story Short OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Raphael Bob-Waksberg's adult animated comedy series
Long Story Short OTT Release Date: Get ready for a fresh animated adventure! Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the creator of the much-loved BoJack Horseman, is back with a brand-new series called Long Story Short. According to What's on Netflix, the show is set to release on Netflix on June 12, 2025. What is Long Story Short about? Long Story Short is an animated comedy that explores typical family life - the good, the bad, and the hilarious. The logline for the series reads: 'Long Story Short is an animated comedy about a family over time. It's about the shared history, the inside jokes, the old wounds. If you've ever had a mother, father, sibling, partner, or child, this is the show for you and by the way, would it kill you to call them?' Who's behind Long Story Short? Raphael Bob-Waksberg, who made a huge mark in the world of adult animation with BoJack Horseman, is leading the project. He will serve as the writer, showrunner, and executive producer of Long Story Short. The old BoJack team is reuniting, too. Lisa Hanawalt (the mind behind BoJack's visual style and Tuca & Bertie) will design the original art and act as supervising producer. Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen will also executive produce for The Tornante Company. ShadowMachine, the studio behind BoJack Horseman and Pinocchio, will produce the animation. Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley will be co-executive producers. This means the same creative spirit that made BoJack a classic will be behind Long Story Short, too. First look at LONG STORY SHORT - the new series from the creator of Bojack in 2025. In a typical Bob-Waksberg tongue-in-cheek style, Raphael said in a press release: 'It is legitimately a thrill and an honour to be back doing what I love most: drafting enthusiastic pull quotes for press releases to Hollywood trade publications. Who says you can't go home again?!' Why is there so much buzz? Ten years ago, BoJack Horseman changed the way people looked at adult animated shows. Instead of just jokes, BoJack gave audiences a mix of humour, sadness, emotional honesty, and clever social commentary. It was Netflix's first original adult animated series when it debuted on August 22, 2014, and it paved the way for hits like Big Mouth, Arcane, and Blue Eye Samurai.
