Five of Texas A&M's transfer additions ranked in Evan Miyakawa's Top 100 Transfer Rankings

Texas A&M's basketball future is in great hands under new head coach Bucky McMillan, who has all but rebuilt a program that was decimated entirely a little less than two months ago after former head coach Buzz Williams departed for Maryland. So far, he has added nine players from the transfer portal, including five who are viewed as "elite" and immediate contributors ahead of the 2025-2026 season. On Friday, college basketball analytics expert Evan Miyakawa released his Top 100 transfer portal rankings, which utilize his unique grading system based on each player's offensive and defensive ratings from their performances during the 2024 season. Advertisement Going back to the five out of nine new Texas A&M players, forwards Mackenzie Mgbako, Rashaun Agee, guard Pop Isaacs, center Federiko Federiko and small forward Rylan Griffen are all ranked in the Top 100 of Miyakawa's rankings, making the Aggies the only team with more than four players within the Top 100, which is mightly impressive, giving McMillan more than enough talent to work with. Here is where all five players are ranked: Forward Mackenzie Mgbako (40th) Guard Pop Isaacs (51st) Forward Rashaun Agee (60th) Center Federiko Federiko (61st) Shooting guard Rylan Griffen (80th) Currently, Texas A&M's 2025 roster consists of 12 players, allowing the team to add three more players to reach the 15-player maximum. It is likely looking to add three more depth pieces at guard, wing, and center. USC men's basketball season is over after one-point loss to Villanova

USC men's basketball season is over after one-point loss to Villanova Trojans lose to Villanova in Vegas and begin the work of improving their roster for next season After USC men's basketball fell to Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament last month, we thought that the Trojans' season was over. As it turns out, however, we were wrong, as USC later accepted an invitation to play in the first ever College Basketball Crown postseason tournament in Las Vegas. After blowing out Tulane in their first round game on Tuesday night, the Trojans took on Villanova in the second round Thursday. This time, however, the result was different, as USC dropped a 60-59 heartbreaker. Saint Thomas and Rashaun Agee both came up big for the Trojans. Thomas had 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Agee had 22 and seven, respectively. However, USC was unable to overcome Villanova star Eric Dixon, who had a game-high 28 points. With the loss, the Trojans' season now comes to an end—for real, this time. As we have mentioned in the past, it is hard to pin too much of this year on head coach Eric Musselman, as he arrived on campus last April and did not have much time to put together a roster. Now that USC's season is over, however Musselman can focus on attacking the transfer portal and recruiting in order to ensure that the Trojans have a much better roster next year than they did in 2024-2025.

USC squashes Tulane in first round of Las Vegas tourney

Rashaun Agee scored 27 points on 10-of-12 shooting and also collected nine rebounds and four blocked shots as Southern California rolled to a convincing 89-60 victory over Tulane on Tuesday night in the first round of the College Basketball Crown tourney in Las Vegas. Saint Thomas recorded 14 points, nine assists and three steals for the Trojans (17-17), who never trailed. Clark Slajchert added 10 points. USC will face Villanova in Thursday's quarterfinals. The Wildcats routed Colorado 85-64 in their first-round contest on Tuesday. Asher Woods scored 18 points for Tulane (19-15), which was outscored 50-36 in the second half. Rowan Brumbaugh had 11 points, seven assists and three steals, Greg Glenn III had 10 points and three steals and Tyler Ringgold also scored 10 points. Both teams played without two starters. USC's Wesley Yates III (foot) and Chibuzo Agbo (unknown) sat out, while the Green Wave's Kaleb Banks and Kam Williams entered the transfer portal. Williams committed to Kentucky, Banks hasn't announced a destination. Making matters worse for the Green Wave is that the two players who moved into the starting lineup -- Percy Daniels and Ringgold -- each picked up four fouls in the first half. USC shot a torrid 63.6 percent from the field, including 9 of 18 from 3-point range. The Trojans held a 39-26 rebounding edge and had a 50-24 advantage in points in the paint. The Green Wave made just 33.9 percent of their attempts and hit 7 of 22 from behind the arc. USC led by 11 before putting the game away with a 15-0 second-half burst. Agee canned a 3-pointer with 8:07 remaining to start the run. Jalen Shelley slammed home a dunk and Agee hit another trey to make it 68-49 with 6:46 left. Shelley knocked down a 3-pointer, Desmond Claude added a dunk and Thomas connected on a jumper to end it as the Trojans led 75-49 with 5:03 to play. Agee had 12 points and six rebounds in the first half as USC held a 39-24 halftime lead. Brumbaugh had eight points in the half for the Green Wave. The Trojans jumped out fast and led 22-11 on Thomas' layup with 7:54 left in the first half. USC finished the half in style when Claude made a short shot as time expired for the 15-point halftime advantage. --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2023 - All Rights Reserved
