Muscat: The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has appointed Rashid Faqir Al Balushi, the Sultanate of Oman's representative, as the FIA's rally safety representative for the Saudi International Rally, the third round of the Middle East Rally Championship. This event is being held for the first time in Saudi Arabia as part of the Middle East Rally Championship calendar, where Saudi Arabia will join the 2025 World Rally Championship at the end of this year. Rashid Al Balushi has extensive experience in the world of rallying, both as a driver in the Oman Rally Championship and as a safety supervisor in local rallies. He joined the FIA ​​team in 2020 as a rally safety representative, overseeing the safety of competitors and spectators, as well as implementing FIA regulations to ensure everyone's safety and the safe completion of the rally. Rashid Al Balushi has previously participated as a rally safety representative in several regional rallies, including the Acropolis Rally in Greece, Middle East rallies under the supervision of the International Automobile Federation, and in the Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon and Cyprus rallies, in addition to the Sultanate's rallies, the last of which was this year in Suhar and in Qatar also.

Rashid Al Balushi of the UAE national team has secured the prestigious red jersey for mountain climbs, in addition to clinching the Sharjah Tour Trophy. In a remarkable achievement, Abdullah Jassim has clinched the title of the best Emirati cyclist, proudly donning the UAE jersey, while also taking home the prestigious Tour Trophy. Over 170 cyclists from 29 teams across the globe participated in the event. A Tight Race for the Leading Position Buosaiba highlighted that Rashid Al Balushi nearly took the win in the initial stage but ultimately secured the mountain climbs jersey following an outstanding performance in the final kilometer. He held onto the jersey in the fifth stage during the sprint climb, showcasing impressive endurance and skill. Sharjah Tour Concludes Successfully Buosaiba emphasised that this edition of the Sharjah Tour stood out, not only for its success as an event but also for the national team's impressive performance alongside top cyclists from around the globe. He expressed his appreciation to the technical and administrative staff of the national team for their hard work, which played a significant role in this outstanding accomplishment.
