White Knight Corps pays tribute to Havildar Sunil Kumar Singh for supreme sacrifice in line of duty during Op Sindoor
New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Indian Army on Saturday paid tributes to Havildar Sunil Kumar Singh who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during Operation Sindoor. After sustaining grievous injuries, he battled valiantly during treatment at Command Hospital and passed away on June 6. The Indian Armed Forces' on May 7 launched precision strikes under Operation Sindoor and dismantled nine major terror camps associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK). Five of the nine terror camps were located in PoJK, and the other four in Pakistan. The strikes came in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. Among the destroyed camps in Pakistan, Muridke and Bhawalpur stand out as they not only serve as residences for major commanders but also serve as epicentres for radicalisation and various training courses on intelligence and arms handling for Laskar as well as Jaish-e-Mohammad. Among the key terror operatives eliminated in the operation was Rauf Azhar, the brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar, the Jaish Chief. Rauf Azhar, a proscribed terrorist, is wanted for his part in the conspiracy to hijack IC-814. (ANI)

"Our fight is against terror," Defence expert retired Lt Gen Sanjay Kulkarni reiterates PM Modi's remarks of resolute retaliation
'Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 12 (ANI): Defence Expert Lt Gen Sanjay Kulkarni (retd) on Monday slammed Pakistan for cross-border shelling and reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reported remark that 'Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola chalega.' (If they fire bullets from there, we will respond with bombs). Speaking with ANI, Lt Gen Kulkari said, Our fight is against terror. We have not started a fight against Pakistan. in view of that Prime Minister has said if Pakistan fires bullets at India, then we will answer it with bomb.' According to sources, PM Modi has given clear directions to armed forces to respond to cross-border firing and shelling with full force, saying, 'Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola,(If they fire bullets from there, we will respond with bombs).' Speaking about Pakistan occupied Kashmir, Lt Gen Kulakarni said that is an integral part of India and the 'government will decide when and how to take it back.' 'As far as Pakistan occupied Kashmir is concerned, it is an integral part of India. The government will decide when and how to take it back,' he said. Further speaking about the DGMO briefing on Sunday, Lt Gen Kulkarni highlighted the key points of the briefing, maintaining India's resolute response. Baramulla (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 12 (ANI): Amidst the ongoing standoff between India and Pakistan following the cessation of hostilities aunderstanding, the Baramulla police have been informed about the presence of twenty unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in 17 villages across the district, according to a statement. Consequent to the safe disposal, the district administration has permitted the evacuees from six villages out of 17 to return to their homes. They confirmed that India has struck 11 airbases in Pakistan and inflicted significant damage on their military capabilities. The officials jointly announced the success of 'Operation Sindoor' -- a cross-border counter-terror operation aimed at neutralising terror infrastructure inside Pakistan. The operation also eliminated over 100 terrorists. The air, land and sea operations were carried out with calibrated restraint, emphasising minimising civilian casualties. This development comes in the light of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following India's recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 which claimed 26 lives. India's military operation involved precision strikes on nine sites identified as terrorist infrastructure, including militant camps in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bahawalpur. (ANI)

Last Updated: May 02, 2025, 13:00 IST Two deadly terror organisations, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), are led by deadlier commanders with distinct tactics and two different ideologies. While Rauf Azhar of JeM believes in high-intensity attacks, Sajid Jatt of LeT prefers sustained insurgency under the guidance of the ISI, posing a long-term threat to regional stability. Rauf Azhar is the mastermind behind some of the deadliest attacks in India, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2016 Pathankot airbase assault, and the 2019 Pulwama bombing that resulted in the death of 40 CRPF personnel. He also orchestrated the 1999 Kandahar hijacking, which led to the release of Masood Azhar. Rauf Azhar embodies JeM's sectarian radicalism and high-risk operations. On the other hand, Sajid Jatt represents LeT's insurgency, closely aligned with the ISI. While Rauf's attacks have immediate devastating impacts, Jatt's adaptive insurgency presents a prolonged challenge to regional peace. CNN-News18 delves into the operational methods of both terrorists. The commanders of Jaish and Lashkar share similar goals but differ in ideologies and tactics. Rauf Azhar, from the Deobandi sect, emphasises strict Sunni orthodoxy and violence against Shias and other minorities. His leadership has led to internal splits within JeM, with members rebelling against Masood Azhar for prioritising Kashmir over global jihad. Historically, Rauf Azhar's faction has targeted Pakistani Christians and state symbols, including assassination attempts on Pervez Musharraf. Sajid Jatt, influenced by the Ahl-e-Hadith sect followed by LeT, aligns with Salafism and focuses on Kashmir-centric jihad while avoiding direct confrontation with the Pakistani state. Unlike JeM, LeT maintains close ties with the ISI. Post-2019, TRF, a proxy of LeT, was created to portray terrorism as a local Kashmiri movement, thereby avoiding international scrutiny. Rauf Azhar masterminded major attacks like the 2001 Parliament strike, the 2016 Pathankot assault, and the 2019 Pulwama bombing, escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. He relies on encrypted devices and public rallies in Pakistan to incite violence, as seen in his 2017 speech threatening an attack bigger than Pathankot. Sajid Jatt manages TRF operations under a domestic front disguise, using drones for weapon drops and encrypted apps like Telegram and WhatsApp for recruitment and propaganda. Recent attacks, such as the 2025 Pahalgam massacre, involved checking victims' IDs to target Hindus and spare Muslims, aiming to incite communal tensions. JeM has splintered into factions like Jamaat-ul-Furqan (JuF) due to internal dissent against Masood Azhar's loyalty to Pakistan. Rauf Azhar's leadership is marked by alliances with Al-Qaeda and internal conflicts. Jaish operates like a family enterprise, with Rauf Azhar and his brother Masood Azhar centralizing control, resulting in operational rigidity. LeT maintains a structured hierarchy under Hafiz Saeed, with TRF acting as a deniable proxy. Sajid Jatt coordinates with senior LeT leaders and ISI handlers. LeT fighters are trained in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan and associated with Al-Qaeda. They are suspected of procuring encrypted technology through ISI-China networks.
