Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved construction of seven grand gateways at the city's borders that will symbolise divine heritage of the Nath Panth and showcase Gorakhpur's rich cultural legacy. The proposal, initially presented by Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan Shukla, received the Chief Minister's nod following a detailed representation. Expressing gratitude, Ravi Kishan said, "This is more than infrastructural development; it is a tribute to the soul and spiritual essence of Gorakhpur. The CM's gesture reflects his deep affection and vision for our city." The gateways will be built along key entry routes—Deoria, Varanasi, Maharajganj, Sonauli, Kushinagar, Lucknow, and Pipraich. Each structure will feature depictions of Guru Gorakhnath and other Siddha Yogis, along with their spiritual teachings, offering a grand visual narrative of the city's religious and philosophical roots. The project, under supervision of Gorakhpur Development Authority, is expected to elevate the city's urban aesthetics as well as its cultural pride—making it a source of admiration for residents and an attraction for visitors alike.
