Live Transfer Updates - Arsenal striker search, Mbeumo fight, Liverpool latest
There are three days left of this initial part of the summer transfer window, and things are coming to a boil nicely. Bryan Mbeumo is the big immediate story right now, with Manchester United negotiating with Brentford, but Thomas Frank's future putting that move in question; Frank is all set for Tottenham as Ange Postecoglou's replacement, and wants to take Mbeumo with him. Alejandro Garnacho is on his way out of Old Trafford, but United need a buyer. The same is true of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford too. Manchester City and Chelsea both have Club World Cup commitments coming up swiftly and are looking to complete deals before heading off to America. City will tie up the signing of Rayan Ait Nouri today, AC Milan's Tiijani Reijnders is almost through the door too, while Chelsea are pushing to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, after agreeing personal terms. At Arsenal, decisions are being made over their choice of striker, with Benjamin Sesko understood to be leading the way in the club's thinking, over Viktor Gyokeres. Then there's Liverpool, all set to welcome Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a club record - they just need to nail down the final figures. Manchester City will complete the £36.3million signing of Rayan Ait Nouri from Wolves today. City and Wolves have reached an agreement on a £34m initial fee with a further £2.3m in add-ons to take the attacking left-back from Molineux to the Etihad. Ait Nouri, 24, has already agreed personal terms with City and will undergo a medical before signing a long-term contract, after an impressive five years at Wolves, for whom he played 157 times, scoring 12 goals. Wolves have paid the Algerian's former club, French side Angers, £9.5m, to buy out their 50 percent sell on clause ahead of the move going through, saving themselves £4m. Wales winger Sorba Thomas has joined Stoke on a three-year contract. The 26-year-old arrives at the Potters from Huddersfield where he provided 29 assists and scored seven goals in 112 Championship starts. A Terriers statement revealed that Thomas had joined Stoke for a 'significant undisclosed fee'. Thomas spent last season on loan with Ligue 1 outfit Nantes and has played a key part for Wales since making his senior debut in 2021, including creating two goals in their 3-1 win over Kazakhstan in March. Stoke sporting director Jon Walters told the club website: 'Sorba is a player we have admired for some time and someone whose services are very much in demand, so we are delighted to welcome him as our first summer signing. 'He's got a strong physical profile, works tirelessly out of possession and technically he brings real quality, especially with his delivery into the box, which is a standout part of his game. 'James Rowberry has worked with him closely in the Wales setup, so we know exactly what he'll bring on and off the pitch. 'At 26, with Championship and international experience behind him, we believe there's more to come with us at Stoke City.' If Manchester United want to sign Bryan Mbeumo, they may well have to fend off a big push from Tottenham Hotspur. United have been negotiating with Brentford to get a deal done for the Cameroon international, who scored 20 times in the Premier League last term. But now managerless Spurs, at the behest of Thomas Frank - who is the No.1 choice to replace Ange Postecoglou - is leading a push from north London to take Mbeumo with him. Frank could be announced this week. Morning everybody. We're back to bring you all the latest transfer news, analysis, gossip, done deals, and everything else we can possibly bring you right here. Let's get to it shall we!

With the formalities now complete, all that awaits is official confirmation of Rayan Ait-Nouri's move to Manchester City. That is expected to come early next week. It should also come before the deadline of the short transfer window for clubs to sign players for the FIFA Club World Cup which expires on June 10. Barring anything exceptional, Ait-Nouri should be a part of Manchester City's squad for the tournament in the United States. That does offer Guardiola more options in and out of possession. On the ball, Rayan Ait-Nouri is an exceptional player. He has the ability to pick out a pass and a cross, and is blessed with exceptional technical ability. Rayan Ait-Nouri has reportedly completed his medical ahead of his move to Manchester City. Premier League defender set for Manchester City medical after agreeing £33.7m move as talks continue over France star
Manchester City are signing Wolves left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri in a deal worth £33.7million. His former club Angers negotiated a 50 per cent sell-on clause but that will be bought out by Wolves for £9.7m before the deal is complete. Talks are ongoing over bonuses but the Algerian is scheduled to have a medical on Saturday before linking up with City. The defender has been admired by scouts at City for over 12 months as they looked for reinforcements to their back line. Ait-Nouri is now deemed to have enough Premier League experience under his belt to make the move following an impressive campaign at Molineux. The 23-year-old scored five goals in 41 appearances last season bringing his total at Wolves to 12 goals in 157 games. He has also provided 19 assists since moving to Molineux in 2020. The Algeria international has a year left on his Wolves contract, although the club also have an option to extend that. Pep Guardiola's side plan to wrap up the £35m signing of midfielder Rayan Cherki from Lyon next. The 21-year old has already agreed personal terms and wants to join City before Tuesday's deadline for the Club World Cup. Cherki scored 12 goals in 44 games this season, including two against Manchester United in the Europa League. He made his senior debut for France on Thursday night, scoring as Les Bleus fell to a 5-4 defeat to Spain. He was also part of the France U23 team that won a silver medal at last summer's Olympic Games. City will also sign AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders pending a medical on a five year deal after they agreed an initial £46.3million fee with the Italians. The fee can rise with bonuses to £58m. Reijnders said: 'The Premier League is of course a great competition, that's what you dream of as a little boy. 'I haven't had any contact with [Pep] Guardiola yet.' Reijnders is coming off the back of an impressive campaign for the Serie A outfit in which he contributed 15 goals and five assists in 54 appearances in all competitions. Milan may have only finished eighth in the table but the Dutchman's performances saw him named the Serie A midfielder of the season.

Manchester City agree deal to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves
Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Athletic reported on June 2 that the 23-year-old was City's top target to strengthen at left-back. The Algeria international is now set to join in a transfer worth just below €40million (£33m) on a five-year contract with the option of a further year. Advertisement Ait-Nouri will leave Wolves after 157 appearances over five seasons. He initially joined as a loanee from French side Angers in 2020 – signing permanently the season after – and will go with one year left on his contract. City were light on left-back options in their squad last season, instead fielding central defenders Josko Gvardiol and Nathan Ake in the position, with academy graduate midfielder Nico O'Reilly, 20, also filling in towards the end of the campaign. Ait-Nouri primarily featured as a left wing-back in a back five for Wolves last season, registering 12 goals and assists in all competitions across 2024-25. He also completed 63 take-ons in the league, only four behind Crystal Palace's FA Cup-winning Eberechi Eze. City will next play in the Club World Cup alongside Wydad AC, Al Ain and Juventus in Group G. The tournament starts on June 14 and will run until July 13 in the United States. Wolves are now set to be without two of their top players from last season after forward Matheus Cunha's move to Manchester United was confirmed on Sunday. Analysis from Thom Harris Ait-Nouri stood out as a consistent creative presence for Wolves last season, taking the most touches in the attacking third and registering the most assists (7) of any player on the team from his high-and-wide left wing-back role last season. He stepped up in the absence of Matheus Cunha as the team strung together six successive wins to help them to safety, providing a goal and an assist against Tottenham and creating five chances against Ipswich, a constant threat with his curling left-footed crosses and positive running down the flank. Only 10 Premier League players attempted more take-ons last season. There is clearly more to Ait-Nouri's game than classic wing-back play, however, a technical, two-footed player capable of playing a variety of different roles. He drove through the centre of the pitch and slipped a pass through to Cunha for an early-season assist against Chelsea, chopped inside and found an incisive right-footed pass against Tottenham in December, and even stepped in to play a No 10 role under Gary O'Neil last season. Advertisement Think of Ait-Nouri as a Joao Cancelo type full-back; a maverick in possession, inventive, good in tight spaces, and able to play in the pockets or out wide in a flexible Pep Guardiola team. He gives City attacking variety and more conviction than their wingers have been able to offer in the final third this season, and for that, is an attractive proposition, even if there are concerns around his concentration in defence.
