Almost 60% of Ukrainians trust Zelenskyy

Sociologists report that as of May, trust in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy among Ukrainians was 59.8%. Source: a survey conducted by the Razumkov Centre's sociological service in cooperation with the Kyiv Security Forum, conducted from 24 April to 4 May 2025 Details: The survey shows that 17.1% of Ukrainians fully trust Zelenskyy, and 42.7% rather trust him. Meanwhile, 13.7% of respondents do not trust Zelenskyy at all and 19.4% rather do not trust him. Reference: The survey was conducted face-to-face only in the territories controlled by the government of Ukraine and not subject to hostilities. A total of 2,021 respondents over the age of 18 were interviewed. The theoretical margin of error does not exceed 2.3%. However, additional systematic deviations may be present due to the consequences of Russian aggression, in particular, the forced displacement of millions of citizens. Background: A poll conducted by the Razumkov Centre sociological service from 28 February to 6 March 2025 showed Zelenskyy was trusted by 57.5%. A poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted from 4 February to 4 March showed the level of trust among Ukrainians in Zelenskyy rose from 57% in the first half of February to 68% after the deterioration of relations with the administration of US President Donald Trump and the Oval Office dispute. Three-quarters of Ukrainians believe in Ukraine's victory, poll shows

A poll has found that 74% of Ukrainians believe Ukraine can win the war against Russia. Meanwhile, 30% of respondents consider victory to mean the complete expulsion of Russian forces from all Ukrainian territory, including Crimea and Donbas. The share of those confident in victory has declined by 9% since September 2024 and by 17.5% since August 2022. Source: a poll conducted by the Razumkov Centre, a Ukrainian think tank, between 28 February and 6 March Quote: "74% of respondents believe in Ukraine's victory in the war (56% of residents of the south, 67% of residents of the east, 79% of residents of the centre and 81.5% of residents of the west), 16% do not think so (11% in the west, 14% in the centre, 23% in the east and 24% in the south)." Details: Regarding what constitutes victory, 30% of those who believe in Ukraine's success consider only the complete expulsion of Russian forces and the restoration of borders as of January 2014 to be a true victory. For 17%, victory means the complete devastation of the Russian Armed Forces and the incitement of an uprising or the collapse of Russia. A further 22% would consider victory to be the restoration of the status quo as of 23 February 2022, while 11% would see it as the expulsion of Russian troops from all Ukrainian territory except occupied Crimea. For 10%, the end of the war would be considered a victory, even if Russian forces remain in the territories seized after 24 February 2022. The survey was conducted from 28 February to 6 March, with 2,018 respondents aged 18 and older interviewed face-to-face across all government-controlled regions of Ukraine. The theoretical margin of error does not exceed 2.3%. However, sociologists caution that additional systematic deviations may be present due to the impact of Russian aggression, particularly the forced displacement of millions of citizens. Background: In September 2024, 83% of Ukrainians believed in Ukraine's victory, with 38% considering it to be the withdrawal of Russian troops from all Ukrainian territory and the restoration of the country's borders as of January 2014. Two thirds of Ukrainians oppose idea of elections during war

Two thirds of Ukrainians surveyed have expressed a negative attitude towards the idea of holding presidential or parliamentary elections before the end of the war. Source: a poll conducted by the Razumkov Centre's Sociological Service between 28 February and 6 March Quote: "Only 22% of respondents have a positive attitude towards holding national elections in Ukraine (presidential or parliamentary) before the end of the war, while the majority (66%) are opposed to this idea. Citizens also predominantly oppose the idea of holding regular local elections before the end of the war in areas where the security situation would permit. Only 25% of respondents support this idea, while 63% are against it." Details: The sociologists note that the negative attitude towards holding elections during wartime "is due to the fact that a relative majority (47%) of citizens believe such elections would divide Ukrainian society (only 11% believe they would unite it, and 28% think they would have no impact)". A relative majority of citizens (49%) also believe that changing the government during the war would hinder Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia, while only 13% think it would contribute to victory, and 20% believe it would have no effect. For reference: The poll was conducted face-to-face in government-controlled territories of Ukraine where active hostilities are not taking place. A total of 2,018 respondents aged 18 and over were surveyed. The theoretical margin of error does not exceed 2.3%. However, additional systematic deviations may be present due to the consequences of Russian aggression, including the forced displacement of millions of citizens. Nearly 80% of Ukrainians oppose withdrawing Armed Forces from Russian-occupied territories

The data obtained from a survey indicates that the majority of Ukrainians – 78% – do not support the withdrawal of the Armed Forces from territories temporarily occupied by Russia, as demanded by Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Source: a survey by the sociological service of Razumkov Centre, conducted from 28 February to 6 March Details: The survey found that only 8% of respondents (6% in the western and central oblasts, 10% in the eastern oblasts and 14% in the southern oblasts) would agree to the full withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. Even more Ukrainians – 82% – oppose recognising Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, as well as Crimea and Sevastopol, as Russian territories in international agreements. Only 5% of respondents support such recognition (2% in the west, 3% in the centre, 6% in the east and 15% in the south). Additionally, 78% of Ukrainians oppose lifting Western sanctions on Russia, while only 7% support their removal. A majority of 56% versus 22% also oppose enshrining Ukraine's neutral, non-aligned and non-nuclear status in the Constitution to end the war. For reference: The face-to-face survey was conducted from 28 February to 6 March in Ukrainian-controlled territories where no active hostilities were taking place. A total of 2,018 respondents aged 18 and older participated. The theoretical margin of error does not exceed 2.3%.
