Johar, who has appeared as a judge on various reality shows like 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa' and 'India's Got Talent', will be serving as a host for the upcoming Prime Video series, which is adapted from the popular international reality show 'The Traitors'. I was engrossed, invested, engaged and mesmerized by the sheer craziness of this supremely clever format. It was a Dutch format,' Johar told reporters at the press conference of the show. Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, faced significant backlash after a video of her confronting a contestant during a controversial episode of Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent, went viral. In a recent interview with Yuvaa, Apoorva addressed the backlash and discussed the 'selective hatred' directed at women who live independently. She expressed disappointment that society didn't care to question the contestant whose misogynistic comments provoked her reaction. Citing CarryMinati as an example, she stated that his use of abusive language is never an issue, while it becomes a significant problem when a woman does the same. Apoorva Mukhija said, 'I used to think that it is 2024. I didn't believe that gender inequality and pay parity was still an issue until I grew up. I realised they were 100% right. Society as a whole, women and men, both included, hate seeing a woman be themselves. They hate to see you be happy, they hate to see you financially independent, they hate to see you happy with or without a partner. I started rebelling as a child against my father's rules, but that was just a small portion of it. Today, I am rebelling against society." She criticised society's tendency to label women, highlighting a double standard. She pointed out that no one criticises her male friends who drink every day and post about it on Instagram, yet it is perceived as problematic when a woman does the same. 'CarryMinati abuses and it is never an issue, but if I abuse, it becomes an issue," she said. Furthermore, The Rebel Kid also pointed out that such a large-scale media trial hasn't been seen before in the creator industry, even though similar instances have occurred in Bollywood. She gave a shoutout to Rhea Chakraborty, and revealed that she talked to the Bollywood actress for an hour about the controversy. For the unversed, Rhea also faced a media trial after Sushant Singh Rajput's death in 2020. 'We have not seen a media trial at this scale. Creator industry mein. We have seen Bollywood industry mein. Shoutout Rhea Chakraborty. I spoke to her also for an hour. My initial response was 'I want to talk about it', because Apoorva talks about everything. But everyone around me said, 'You cannot open your mouth, it'll start another media cycle for five more days. She admitted that she is scared of acid attacks and shared that threats are 'very real". 'I don't think I am going to put my parents out there on social media anytime soon. Also, I won't be posting live location videos or posts because the acid attack threats are very real," Apoorva told Yuvaa and then added, 'We are living at a time where one can figure out a building by seeing the view." For the unversed, Apoorva Mukhija faced a massive hatred earlier this year for Ranveer Allahbadia's comments on India's Got Latent. Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, during an episode of the show, allegedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question involving body parts and proposed an indecent act in exchange for Rs 2 crore. The outrage peaked when he posed a controversial question: 'Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?" Following the incident, several complaints were filed against Apoorva and other members of the panel. Apoorva, who enjoys a following of 3 million on Instagram, had also deleted all her posts from the platform. The Rebel Kid recently made her comeback on Instagram when she revealed that she even faced sleep paralysis after the controversy because she was being threatened. 'Every single day that I would wake up, something new would be happening. I would have sleep paralysis because I would be scared. Everytime I would wake up there was some new news. My friends would talk to me every day, all the time, to say everything will be fine. They are great people and they had faith in me. I could believe that everything would be alright. Apoorva shared that it was not just her who was brutally slammed and abused after the controversy, but her parents too. The Rebel Kid revealed that since her mother's Instagram account was public, she also received a lot of rape threats. It took a toll on her, and due to which her blood pressure increased drastically. 'It was a lot. People found out my parents' account. My mom's account was public. When all of this was happening, for the initial two days, I was thinking about myself. I did not think about my parents. I did not know what was happening at home. My mom got a lot of R words and rape threats, slut shaming. I did not know till three days later, I called my brother and asked, 'Ghar pe sab theek hai?' He told me, 'Mummy ka BP 180 X 120 hai'. He told me everything about the comments," Apoorva said. The content creator broke down into tears as she recalled how the controversy made her parents' worst nightmares come true. 'My dad always said 'Samaj mein izzat rehni chahiye'. I just felt like he lost all of that in a second and I put them through all of that." She then added, 'There is light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to fight for it," she shared and then added, 'Everything that he was scared of came true. I put them through all of that." However, Apoorva shared that despite everything, her parents never complained about anything. 'She says she is fine. My parents have not complained even once.
