Samsara Launches Recognition for Drivers to Help Fleets Build Safer, More Engaged Driver Cultures
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Samsara Inc. ("Samsara") (NYSE: IOT), the pioneer of the Connected Operations ® Platform, today announced the global launch of Recognition, a new feature designed to help fleets celebrate safe driving behaviour and strengthen driver engagement, without adding administrative overheads. With driver turnover remaining one of the industry's toughest challenges, the UK needs to recruit 200,000 [1] new lorry drivers over the next five years to prevent supply chain disruptions, fleets are urgently seeking new ways to improve retention. In addition to investing in tools to help fleets manage risks, Samsara is doubling down on a driver-first approach by empowering managers to recognise and reward high performance in real time. Research shows that well-recognised employees are 45% less likely to leave their jobs [2] and companies with high engagement see 48% fewer safety incidents [3]. Recognition builds on this insight by giving safety leaders a simple, scalable way to reinforce the behaviours that matter, helping fleets improve morale, build trust and keep drivers and communities safe. 'Recognition represents a shift in how fleets can foster a culture of safety,' said Johan Land, SVP of Product and Engineering at Samsara. 'Rather than focusing solely on correcting risky behaviour, we're giving safety leaders tools to celebrate drivers for what's going well – boosting morale, building trust and reinforcing the habits that keep drivers and communities safe.' Technology That Celebrates Drivers, Backed by Real-Time Data Recognition uses real-time driver data and AI-driven performance insights to help managers identify key moments worth celebrating, such as safe driving streaks, major improvements or consistent compliance with driving adherence (tachograph compliance, no violations) regulations. These insights make it easy for managers to deliver timely, meaningful recognition through the Samsara Driver App. Key capabilities include: Streaks and Milestones – Surfaces patterns in safe speed, focused driving, driving adherence (tachograph compliance, no violations) and fuel-efficient behaviour so that managers can act quickly. Personalised Kudos – Coaches can add customised messages, turning data into meaningful, motivating moments. Shared Visibility – Drivers and managers can track performance milestones via intuitive dashboards and mobile views. Proven Results Across the Industry Fleets using Samsara have already seen significant improvements in terms of both safety and retention. Samsara has helped: DHL reduce accident costs and driver turnover by 50% Home Depot lower claims by 65% Lanes Group decrease mobile phone usage by 92% in seven months For safety leaders, the true value of Recognition comes to life in the day-to-day impact on their teams. At Lanes Group, Fleet Systems Team Leader Amber Kirkby describes how Recognition has transformed not just their data but also their entire safety culture: "By focusing on positive reinforcement through Samsara, we've seen a significant boost in driver morale. Rewarding safe behaviours motivates our team and fosters a stronger safety culture where good practices are celebrated." By turning recognition into a daily habit, Samsara is helping organisations build workplaces where drivers feel seen, supported and motivated to perform at their best. Recognition that Scales with You Unlike standalone recognition systems, Recognition is fully integrated within the Samsara ecosystem, meaning no extra software, no add-ons and no extra effort. It's recognition that works at scale, designed for safety teams who want to boost performance without adding complexity to your team's workflow. DCT Abu Dhabi launches emirate-wide face recognition system in hotels
UAE - The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), through its Licensing & Regulatory Compliance Department, is deploying a cutting-edge Face Recognition System to further elevate efficiency and safety across the emirate's hotels, for both guests and employees. The initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's number one ranking globally in safety and security, holding the title of World's Safest City in Numbeo's Safety Index for nine consecutive years. Unveiled during the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, the Face Recognition System is designed to enhance guest verification processes, improve the overall guest experience, simplify procedures and significantly reduce check-in time. It has been launched following the signing of a cooperation agreement between DCT Abu Dhabi and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP). Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism, DCT Abu Dhabi, said: 'The integration of the Face Recognition System underscores our shared commitment to pioneering advancements in smart tourism. This initiative reflects our commitment to leveraging innovation to enhance the guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for both guests and hospitality sector employees. By working closely with ICP and our hotel partners and national authorities, we are ensuring a seamless, safer and more connected journey for every visitor.' This marks the first government-led initiative in Abu Dhabi to introduce face recognition technology in partnership with hotels, highlighting a forward-looking approach to security and hospitality. The system is now in a pilot phase at a handful of select hotels in the emirate. The first phase of the full rollout will commence across five-star hotels in Abu Dhabi city, the Al Ain Region, and the Al Dhafra Region, followed later by a second phase targeting four-star hotels, with gradual expansion to all remaining hotel categories. DCT Abu Dhabi is working closely with hotels to ensure a smooth rollout of the system. This includes direct communication, detailed system briefings, and the provision of technical and training support. By streamlining check-in and check-out procedures, the technology also boosts operational efficiency and provides guests with a seamless, tech-enabled experience. The facial recognition system captures and analyses biometric data during guest check-in. The data is securely encrypted, retrieved from ICP and transmitted to a centralized database managed by DCT Abu Dhabi. In accordance with UAE cybersecurity and data privacy regulations. The data will be used exclusively for enhancing guest safety and streamlining hotel operations, while strictly adhering to legal and ethical standards. The cooperation agreement between DCT Abu Dhabi and ICP covers several strategic areas aimed at supporting digital transformation in Abu Dhabi's tourism sector. The agreement involves pilot projects, development of data protection mechanisms, and ensuring system integration between the two parties. The collaboration seeks to promote innovation, improve operational efficiency, and achieve the highest standards of cybersecurity and privacy, contributing to better tourism service quality and supporting the UAE's digitalisation efforts. - TradeArabia News Service Copyright 2024 Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
