FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — If February flooding affected your life, FEMA officials want to hear from you, no matter what the extent of the damage was, but the deadline to apply for relief is coming soon. Kim Keblish, a spokesperson with FEMA, told FOX 56 News on Sunday that some Disaster Recovery Centers are still receiving first-time applicants who said they were hesitant to apply, thinking they didn't have as much damage as their neighbors. 'I'd like to stress this deadline and mention that FEMA may be able to help with a variety of needs that most folks don't know about, like vehicle repairs, moving and storage costs, childcare costs, wells, septic, etc.,' Keblish said. FEMA officials, multi-agency resources arrive in Pulaski County: Where to go for help The deadline to apply for aid in Breathitt, Clay, Estill, Floyd, Harlan, Johnson, Knott, Lee, Leslie,Letcher, Martin, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Simpson, and Woodford counties is Sunday, May 25. According to a news release, there are several ways to apply for disaster relief: Online at Visit any Disaster Recovery Center. To find a center close to you, visit FEMA's Disaster Recovery Center locator website, or text DRC along with your Zip Code to 43362 (Example: 'DRC 29169'). Use the FEMA mobile app. Call the FEMA Helpline at (800) 621-3362. It is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time. Help is available in many languages. If you use a relay service, such as Video Relay Service (VRS), captioned telephone, or other service, Give FEMA your number for that service. FEMA works with every household on a case-by-case basis. WVU Princeton Community Hospital announces re-accreditation from the DNV

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — WVU Princeton Community Hospital was re-accredited by the DNV. According to a press release, a successful re-accreditation from DNV (Det Norske Veritas) was announced by WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH). Two additional Disaster Recovery Centers to be opened by FEMA in southern West Virginia Earning DNV re-accreditation reaffirms our unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality care to our patients. This accreditation reflects our dedication to continuous improvement, patient safety, and ensuring every person who walks through our doors receives the best possible care. Karen Bowling | PCH President and CEO DNV, headquartered in Norway, is an independent, global certification company, and is a major accrediting body for United States hospitals, and has permission from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to hold hospital accreditation surveys to make sure hospitals follow federal regulations. FEMA Disaster Recovery Center to open in McDowell County WVU PCH's DNV accreditation shows that it meets or exceeds CMS patient safety standards, and instead of doing hospital surveys every three years, the DNV's NIAHO (Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) accreditation program does annual hospital surveys while also encouraging hospitals to share information with other departments and find ways to improve safety protocols and clinical workflows. The press release also stated that the DNV accreditation program is the only one to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, which is a quality management system used worldwide by performance-driven organizations.
