Leader of Ohio's recovery services takes private job
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – The director of RecoveryOhio, Aimee Shadwick, is stepping down.
Shadwick has led the program since 2022. Her last day is Wednesday. Shadwick has accepted a position in the private sector, however, Governor Mike DeWine's office did not say where she will be working.
Erin Reed, the current assistant policy director of the governor's safety policy team, will serve as the next director of RecoveryOhio. She starts her new job Thursday. Reed has served in the governor's office since 223.
'I am confident that Erin Reed will continue to build on our work to ensure individuals and families affected by mental health and substance use disorders have the support and resources they need to reach their full potential,' DeWine said.
RecoveryOhio is a state government entity formed to educate and provide mental health and addiction assistance to Ohioans by providing programming and forging partnerships with local and state governments and coalitions to battle Ohio's addiction and mental health crisis.
