Car dealer with links to Malaysia's Goh Brothers automotive group to be agent for Alfa Romeo, Jeep in Singapore
[SINGAPORE] Red Rock & Rosso Motor (Red Rock), a company linked to Malaysian businessman Goh Kian Sin, will be the distributor and dealer for Alfa Romeo and Jeep in Singapore and Malaysia. Regulatory filings show that Goh is the sole shareholder of Red Rock. He is the founder and managing director of the Oriental Castle group, which has steel and automotive subsidiaries. Oriental is the sole distributor in Asia for steel giant ArcelorMittal, the second largest steel producer in the world and listed in multiple countries. The group has car and motorcycle retail businesses in Malaysia: Goh Brothers, whose retail operations include the car brands Audi, BYD, Lexus, Proton, Toyota and Volkswagen; and Didi Group, which is the distributor and dealer of motorcycle brands Aprilia, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Vespa and Royal Enfield. The partnership with Stellantis, the owner of Alfa Romeo and Jeep, will be officially announced in July. Stellantis is the car conglomerate which also owns Citroen, Maserati, Peugeot, and Opel, among others. Stellantis and Red Rock did not immediately respond to BT queries on the matter. Sign Up Sign Up In 2024, Stellantis established its own national sales company, Stellantis Malaysia, to distribute Peugeot and potentially other group brands to the country. Alfa Romeo has been absent from Malaysia since 2013. Jeep's former Malaysia distributor was DRB-Hicom, but in an official capacity, the brand has been inactive for the past few years. Red Rock will sell new cars to consumers in Singapore. But in a twist, a former agent for Alfa Romeo – Euro Automobile, part of SGX-listed EuroSports Global – will provide aftersales and service. Euro Automobile held the Alfa Romeo dealership from 2004 to 2022. EuroSports Global executive director and deputy CEO Andy Goh told BT that the company already handles service for most of the Alfa Romeo owners in Singapore. Providing servicing for both Alfa Romeo and Jeep brands would improve that revenue stream for the company, he added. The most recent agent for both brands was Komoco Motors, which held Jeep since 1996 and obtained the Alfa Romeo franchise in 2023. In January, it dropped both brands and said that it would provide aftersales support until mid-2025. Red Rock's showroom will be located at 43 Malan Road, in Gillman Barracks and part of The Southern Depot lifestyle and retail hub. Euro Automobiles' service centre is located at 24 Leng Kee Road. While Red Rock is not Goh's first foray into the Singapore market, it is the first time one of his companies has become a car dealer in the Republic. In 2021, Didi Lifestyle, a subsidiary of Goh Brothers, was incorporated in Singapore and became the authorised dealer and distributor of Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Triumph, replacing previous representative Mah, which is also the distributor for Kawasaki. Didi Lifestyle is also the landlord of The Southern Depot, which is modelled after The Gasket Alley, a motorcycle and lifestyle location in Petaling Jaya, Selangor that was co-founded by Goh.

Take A Look At This Year's Crop Of Wild Jeep Concepts
Jeep's array of seven new vehicle concepts. It's that time of year again: the 59th annual Easter Jeep Safari kicks off on April 12 in Moab, Utah and it's guaranteed to be a spectacular time. With features like Hell's Revenge and Poison Spider carved from Navajo sandstone, Moab trail riders will find everything from easy-breezy to super-challenging options. Jeep likes to take the temperature up a notch with a new batch of concept vehicles every year, and the 2025 version doesn't disappoint. Seven all-new custom Jeep 4x4 concept builds debut at Easter Jeep Safari this year, giving the brand a chance to show off its creative chops. Jeep calls Moab its 'home away from home' and is offering sponsor trail rides in partnership with Red Rock 4-Wheelers club on Tuesday, April 15 (Hell's Revenge) and Wednesday, April 16 (Steel Bender). Take a look at these seven concepts, starting with my favorite: Jeep Rewind Concept If you were a teenager in the 80s in and 90s, you're going to love the Rewind Concept. Wrapped in Grimace purple exterior paint color with custom graphics, the Rewind is splashed with custom retro print inserts that will look 'gag me with a spoon' to some and 'totally awesome' to others. Equipped with a 2.4-liter inline-four engine and a custom mesh sun bonnet, this is open-air freedom at its retro best. Jeep Blueprint Concept Festooned with 35-plus accessories, all labeled with QR codes that lead to the Mopar eStore site and their corresponding part numbers and specs, the Blueprint Concept is a showcase for options. It also includes a Warn winch, 37-inch wheels, tube doors, a snorkel kit, Katzkin leather seat covers, and more. Jeep J6 Honcho Concept The J6 Honcho Concept starts with a two-inch lift kit, 17-inch bronze wheels, and 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud terrain tires. It also includes a box that's 12 inches longer than the standard Gladiator bed. Jeep says it mixes the classic late 1970s Jeep Honcho theme with cJeep Performance Parts and accessories from Mopar. Jeep Gladiator High Top Honcho Concept Staying in the 1970s theme, the Gladiator High Top Honcho Concept includes a DECKED truck bed storage system, a modified front bumper from American Expedition Vehicles, and a color-matched hardtop. Inside, the High Top Honcho sports tan-and-black leather seats, a bright pedal kit, and door sill guards. It has custom painted steel wheels and massive 40-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, which makes it extra rugged. Especially with the AccuAir adjustable air suspension. Jeep Bug Out 4xe Concept To 'bug out' means to take off, or depart quickly. Jeep's Bug Out 4xe Concept is ready to do just that with a focus on lightweighting. Designed to be a mobile campsite, the Bug Out 4xe Concept is extended by 12 inches with a Jeep Gladiator-style drop tailgate and high-departure rear tube bumper and front half doors. Here's the really fun part, though: it includes a Jeep electric off-road E-scooter that gets up to 40 minutes of continuous use. Jeep Convoy Concept Finished in special-edition matte Ghost Ops exterior paint, the Convoy Concept has chocolate brown canvas half doors and top/bed canopy. Its 40-inch BFG Krawler tires are made for serious off-roading and the 12,000-lb. Warn Zeon winch seals the deal. Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser Concept This one, I think, is the prettiest one, with a solar flash and satin black two-tone exterior and two-inch lift kit. The roof storage rack looks good in black and adds smart functionality to the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser Concept. Even the lighting is a concept: the off-road pivoting light bar accessory concept keeps the trail illuminated.

Castillo And Oshiro Take Home Caribbean Gold At The APP Cayman Island Pickleball Open
APP Cayman Open 2025 APP This past weekend, the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) headed to the Cayman Islands for a 'test run' of a pro stop in George Town, at the brand new 24-court Pickleball Cayman facility just outside the city center. A slew of top APP touring pros took advantage of the recent cancellation of PWR commitments to take a quick Caribbean vacation and hit up Grand Cayman Island for a weekend of fun and competition. Here's a quick recap of the Open Draws. There was prize money to be had, but no APP ranking points. The event had more than 240 players, a pretty sizeable draw for a resort community. Click here for the home page for the event, where you can get tournament details, draw sheets, and results. Let's recap the action. Former UCLA star and now South Carolina player Max Wild upset No. 1 Foster in the quarters and made the singles final, but could not overcome veteran No. 2 Riley DeHeart, who topped him 12,11 for the win. Gold: Ryler DeHeart. Silver: Max Wild. Bronze: Richard Livornese Jr. Judit Castillo upended No. 1 seed Yana Newell in the final for the singles win. Newell had topped teenage sensation Schull in the semis. Texas-based pro Nicole Pitts had a huge back-draw run to claim Bronze. Gold: Judit Castillo. Silver: Yana Newell. Bronze: Nicole Pitts. The Mixed draw was filled with APP heavyweights, and the back end of the competition did not disappoint. The reigning APP event champion Bobbi Oshiro teamed with Richard Livornese to upend the No. 1 seeds Megan Fudge & Jack Munro in the final, a great win for both. Gold: Oshiro/Livornese. Silver: Fudge/Munro. Bronze: Newell/Kawka. Richard Livornese made it three medals out of three divisions, pairing with Jack Munro to take the gold. Gold: Munro/Livornese. Silver: Mick/Newell. Bronze: DeHeart/Kawka Bobbi Oshiro & Judit Castillo both secured dual golds for their weekend at the Beach, cruising to a title together. Gold: Oshiro/Castillo. Silver: Fudge/Pitts. Bronze: Newell/Mayorga-Perry The local club has five teaching pros (by the way, is that possibly the greatest job in the world? A pickleball pro in the Cayman Islands?), some of whom also competed against the traveling APP pros. The best finishes by local pros I could find: - Michael Carse finished 8th in Open Doubles. - Dana Karani finished 18th in Open Doubles, 18th in Open Singles. - Steve Thompson finished 16th in Open Doubles. Unlike in normal pro events, there were no Senior pro events this weekend. Most of the budding Senior Pros were at an NPL combine in Houston. Next up on the Pickleball Calendar? According to my Master Pickleball Schedule, next week is the PPA Red Rock pro stop, the APP Collegiates event at Cape Coral, a USAP golden ticket event in Tucson, and a PPA challenger event in Columbia, South Carolina. Busy week. And that's after the PWR pulled the plug on its spring schedule.
