Oman's preparations for participation in Expo Osaka complete
Muscat – Oman has completed preparations for its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, with a 1,763.22sqm pavilion featuring over 33 activities aimed at showcasing the country's cultural and economic advancements.
Reem Said al Shanfari, a member of the Omani Pavilion Management Team and International Communications Officer, presented a visual briefing on the pavilion's design on Tuesday. Inspired by Oman's diverse natural and environmental landscapes, the pavilion reflects how its people have adapted to their surroundings.
The design was selected through a competition organised by the Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design.
Reem outlined six key themes of Oman's participation: Communication and interaction, tourism, investment opportunities, cultural identity, international relations and partnerships.
These themes align with 'Oman Vision 2040' and aim to highlight the country's cultural heritage, position it as a global tourism and investment hub, showcase innovations in sustainable technology, promote cross-cultural exchange, and strengthen global partnerships.
The pavilion will also emphasise Oman's commitment to the green economy and sustainable development while fostering academic and research collaborations with international institutions.
More than 300 Omani small and medium enterprises will participate, displaying their products on a dedicated digital platform and online store.
Expo 2025 Osaka, scheduled to take place from April 13 to October 13 this year, will feature participation from over 155 countries and is expected to attract approximately 28.2mn visitors.
