Saskatchewan Day of Caring supports the Canadian Red Cross through a collaborative effort that dedicates airtime throughout the day to raise funds and awareness for those impacted by the wildfires. Funds raised during the Radiothon will go directly to the Canadian Red Cross Saskatchewan 2025 Wildfires Appeal. People can donate $10 by texting RADIO to 20222 or by going to the Red Cross' website. Awareness can also be raised on social media using #SKDayOfCaring. As many as 15,000 people have been forced to flee their communities in northern Saskatchewan the past few weeks with wildfires threatening several communities. According to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), there are 23 active wildfires in the province Thursday morning, including six that are not contained. Fifteen evacuation events are still in effect that the SPSA is responding to. In all 37 Saskatchewan radio stations and 19 online news outlets are taking part in the day. More to come…
