Maryport Rescue Team take part in 'simulated casualty' training exercise
MARYPORT Rescue team have taken part in a 'simulated casualty' training exercise on the River Derwent.
The training exercise took place on Sunday, February 23, and saw the team take advantage of elevated river levels to take part in an entrapment rescue exercise.
The day also included training on swimming techniques, rope work, and conditional rescue, and was overseen by Maryport Rescue's in-house Rescue 3 Europe instructor.
Writing on social media, they said: "Last Sunday some of the team took advantage of the River levels and were out doing some CPD training on the River Derwent.
"Swimming techniques, rope work, conditional rescue, simulated casualty rescue from entrapment was the focus of the day.
"The training was delivered and overseen by our in-house Rescue 3 Europe instructor.
"A good session in good conditions."
