PlayStation's epic Memorial Day sale has PS5 games from $5 — these are the 11 best deals I'd buy
The long Memorial Day weekend is the perfect excuse to dive into some excellent PS5 games, and the PlayStation Store is giving you the perfect excuse with its new sales event called "Multiverse of Games". This sale runs until June 5, and packs more than 2,000 deals across PS5 and PS4 games (as well as a selection of DLC content and in-game currencies). There are plenty of epic titles in this sale, including our pick for the best PS5 game you can play, God of War Ragnarök, which is now just $39 (was $69). At the same time, Amazon and Best Buy are also offering rival deals, so whether you prefer a digital download or a physical game disc, here are the PS5 deals that I've got my eyes on ahead of the Memorial Day weekend. After more than a decade of waiting, EA has returned to the world of NCAA football in the appropriately titled College Football 25. And this simulation of college football was worth the weight. Offering a slightly more arcade-style pace than its Madden sibling, and letting you play as the biggest schools in the country, it lived up to all those years of anticipation. Return to a galaxy far, far away in the biggest Lego Star Wars game to date. Experience the entirety of The Skywalker Saga in plastic-brick form and collect more than 300 playable characters as you smash everything in sight. From The Phantom Menace through The Rise of Skywalker, this is the ultimate retelling of the greatest sci-fi sagas ever told. Dead Island 2 offers players a sun-soaked playground crawling with the undead. Using just about any weapon you can get your hands on, it's your job to slay your throughway Hell-A from the mansions of Beverly Hills to the boardwalk of Venice Beach. Fully playable in co-op, Dead Island 2 is a rip-roaring open-world game full of zombies to slaughter, survivors to assist and loot to collect. One of the most acclaimed and influential games of all time, Resident Evil 4 has been reborn in this full-scale remake. You play Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to rescue the President's kidnapped daughter in a spooky European village overrun with gruesome enemies. Featuring modernized gameplay and overhauled visuals, this is Resident Evil 4 as you've never seen it before. Dragon's Dogma 2 is an absorbing fantasy RPG that doesn't pull its punches. Set in a rich mythical universe, you set out on quests that get increasingly complex and challenging. The focus on exploration and deep combat will keep you hooked across its lengthy adventure. Plus, it looks stunning on PS5. Sonic X Shadow Generations combines a remaster of 2011's Sonic Generations, a love letter to the Blue Blur that remains a fan-favorite to this day, with a new Shadow-focused campaign. It's a strong package, and it was perfectly timed to coincide with the latest Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie. Following this year's dramatic Masters tournament, now is the time to step out onto the links and prove yourself a golfing whiz. PGA Tour 2K25 is the latest entry in the annual sports sim series, and boasts the level of authenticity you'd expect from a 2K game. The anticipated second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake series, FFVII Rebirth is one of the most beautiful RPGs ever made. This game is absolutely packed with content, providing hundreds of hours of activities. At this lower price, now is a great time to give Final Fantasy VII Rebirth a shot. We loved how the side quests and minigames provided a huge amount of depth to the gameplay, and we considered it a must-own PS5 title in our Final Fantasy VII Rebirth review. Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest entry in the long-running series, and sees you venture into new terrortiy teeming with fearsome creatures to craft. Sticking closely to the series' well-established formula, it combines thrilling battles with deep crafting and customization. And also boats a highly cinematic main story campaign that can be played in full four-player co-op. Civilization VII makes some of the biggest changes yet to the established formula, and while not all of these additions are necessarily for the best, it remains one of the deepest strategy games on the market. This is a game you can play for literally thousands of hours.

Behold, the Monster Hunter Wilds effect: Capcom's old Monster Hunter games sold even better in the past year despite 10 million copies of Wilds eating the fandom's time and money

Capcom has released its latest financial earnings, and it seems nothing can stop Monster Hunter - not even Monster Hunter. Old entries in the venerable series are selling even better than they did the year before, collectively outstripping the sales of Monster Hunter Wilds itself. Monster Hunter Wilds sold an impressive 10.1 million units at launch, according to Capcom's FY24 earnings report. The financial year covers April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025, which only encompasses the first month of Wilds' release, making the figure even more impressive. Five of Capcom's top six sellers for the year were Monster Hunter titles, broken up only by Resident Evil 4. Between World, Iceborne, Rise, and Sunbreak, the old MonHun games and expansions sold a collective 10.4 million units, just barely outdoing Wilds itself. It seems clear that anticipation for Wilds drove some of those sales. In FY23, the series sold a collective 9.4 million units, so this year's numbers are showing a pretty substantial bump. "Cumulative sales of the series overall surpassed 100 million units worldwide, helping to enhance the brand value of Monster Hunter," Capcom said in its report. Between Wilds and the rest of the series, Capcom's reporting 20.5 million Monster Hunter titles sold for FY24, and that led to what the publisher calls an "all-time high" of 51.9 million games sold across its entire catalog in the year. New PlayStation sale offers epic discounts on PS5 games — here's 15 deals I'd buy from $5
PlayStation Store has just launched its latest collection of deals, dubbed the "Next Level Savings" sale. It includes some sizeable discounts on loads of must-play PS5 games, and you can score a full PlayStation game from just $5. My favorite deal in this sale is a toss-up between Persona 5 Royal for $23 and Demon's Souls for $29. Both games can keep you busy for dozens of hours and are essential PS5 titles. Other low-cost deals include RoboCop: Rogue City for $8 and the very underrated Pentiment for just $9. I've also found some excellent PS5 game deals at retailers like Amazon and Best Buy, just in case you'd prefer a physical disc over a digital download. Epic Nintendo Switch game sale is live from $9 — 21 deals I'd buy now
We're just a few weeks out from the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, but major exclusive launch titles are somewhat thin on the ground. So if you want a bunch of games to play, make sure to take advantage of these deals on some of the best Nintendo Switch games! There are a ton of awesome digital deals over at the Nintendo Store, including the super popular Resident Evil 4 on sale for $9. This is well known as one of the most popular video games of all time and with this Nintendo Switch version, you can play it on the go. Plus, Amazon has Nintendo Switch games on sale from $19 right now. And Woot has a ton of deals on big hitters — for example you can get Animal Crossing New Horizons on sale for $39. Super Meat Boy was one of the first indie game franchises to take the world by storm, so it's awesome to see this little guy make a comeback on Nintendo Switch. You'll need to navigate a gauntlet of brutally tough action platforming levels and boss battles, with new procedurally generated endless runner stages giving this entry in the series its name. Our No More Heroes 3 review said that while this game isn't perfect, it is a ton of fun thanks to its bombastic style and awesome boss battles. Game designer Suda51's unique style is on full show here, which you'll probably either love or hate. The sequel to 2017's Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Sparks of Hope once again reunites the residents of the Mushroom Kingdom with the zany Rabbids. This time the unexpected allies are venturing into the stars for an intergalactic adventure. Offering colorful strategy combat, and plenty of planets to explore, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is one of the most overlooked games on Nintendo Switch. A farming sim with a twist — in this game you don't grow crops, you grow monsters. Once you've raised a bunch, you'll need to command them in battle to take on tough boss battles. This game is also notable for its art design by Hiro Mashima, the artist behind the popular Fairy Tail manga. A full remake of the original Super Mario RPG released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), this role-playing game sees Mario, Bowser, Peach and some new friends embark on an adventure to repair a wish-granting star. With updated graphics, gameplay and new cinematics, Super Mario RPG has never looked (or played) this well, but the original game's charms have been carefully retained as well. Three of the best superhero games ever made come to the Nintendo Switch in the Batman Arkham Trilogy. This collection brings together Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight alongside all the DLC released for all three games. That's a whole load of Bat-action in a single package. Just be aware that Arkham Knight has some performance issues on Nintendo Switch, but the other two games run well. One of 2022's unexpected cult hits, Stray casts you as a curious cat in a world filled with humanoid robots. There's a lot to like in this cyberpunk adventure, from its visually-striking setting, to its nonverbal storytelling, to its dedicated 'meow' button. The gameplay is simple, but some platforming and puzzle challenges should keep players engaged during Stray's relatively short playtime. Note: this deal is for a physical copy, but you can get the digital version for $29 at Nintendo. Ty is back. This collection of remade 3D platformers look better than ever and feel incredible to play, with a memorable outback setting and plenty of fun characters in tow. This HD collection also adds a Hardcore Mode for an even tougher challenge! WarioWare Get It Together is crazy, and that's why we love it. This game is packed with fast paced mini challenges that you'll need seriously quick reaction times to get right. You can team up with a friend or go it solo and try to complete them all. This is one of the games that helped get many people through a tough couple of years, letting you jet off to an untamed island courtesy of business raccoon Tom Nook. It's up to you to bring civilization to that island, and turn into a villager's check: $52 @ Amazon The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Nintendo Switch is a lovingly crafted remaster of the 1993 classic. Take control of Link as he explores the mysterious Koholint Island, where he'll traverse eight puzzling dungeons as well as an expansive check: $59 @ Best Buy If you're getting through Mario games faster than Nintendo can make them, then this is the game for you. Build your own levels in the style of several different 2D Mario games, share them online and then test out others. Ultimate by name, ultimate by nature. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings together every single fighter in the franchise's history for a showdown of epic proportions. This hugely popular party game is now on sale. This side-scrolling adventure is a wonderfully refreshing spin on the classic Mario formula. Venturing to the Flower Kingdom, you'll discover stage-altering Wonder Flowers which can warp levels, create new platforming challenges and even turn Mario into an elephant. Playable in up to four-player co-op, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a platforming marvel for the entire family and one of the very best Nintendo Switch games you can play now. Updated graphics and some welcome quality-of-life improvements make Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on Nintendo Switch the best way to experience this classic RPG. With plenty of humor and loads of abilities and upgrades to unlock, the colorful game is one of the most beloved Mario games in history, and it's never looked or played as well as it does in this Nintendo Switch remake.

Resident Evil 9 officially teased in new video
Resident Evil 9 fans believe Capcom has just teased its next entry in the iconic survival horror series. In July 2024, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 9 is currently in development, though its full title hasn't been officially announced. I assume it will likely be called Resident Evil with a subheading of sorts. Check out the Resident Evil 4 trailer below! At this time, we've had to rely on rumours for information regarding Resident Evil 9, with many claiming that it will star both Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine as playable characters. If this happens, it would be a first for the video game series. As we've seen with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village, Capcom likes to hide a Roman numeral somewhere in the title during marketing, and Resident Evil 9 will likely be no exception. With that in mind, during a short video from Capcom thanking fans for making the 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake the fastest game in the series to achieve 10 million sales, fans believe that Resident Evil 9 may have been teased. During the opening moments of Resident Evil 4, when Leon first wanders into the village, players encounter a bonfire with a wooden cross burning. This is where fans believe Resident Evil 9 has been teased. As brought to our attention by Dusk Golem (thanks, Reddit), when rotated 90 degrees clockwise, the Roman numeral for nine has seemingly been edited into the wooden cross in the bonfire.
