Notre Dame legend Rudy Ruettiger disappointed in the direction college football has taken
BELOIT, WI (WTVO/WQRF) — The man whose passion and love for college football and for Notre Dame football isn't sensing the same passion from college football players today. Rudy Ruettiger, the man whom the movie 'Rudy' focused on almost 31 years ago says changes in the game including NIL, the transfer portal and shifting conferences has put more of an emphasis on money and on individual goals, and they have taken the focus off team bonding, loyalty, and traditional rivalries. Reuttiger was in Beloit Wednesday night for the Beloit International Film Festival's showing of the movie Rudy at ABC Supply Stadium, the home of the Midwest League's Beloit Sky Carp. Reuttiger will return to the stadium Friday night to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Sky Carp's season opener against the South Bend Drew Collins caught up with Reuttiger Wednesday evening.
