Queen Camilla Favors Ornate Embroidery in Navy Midi Dress for State Visit to Italy With King Charles III
Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom joined her husband King Charles III for the royal couple's state visit to Italy on Monday. The British royals touched down in Rome, greeted by dignitaries and representatives from Italy's governing body.
For the special royal visit, Queen Camilla opted for a shade of understated navy blue. The midi dress featured the queen consort's go-to silhouette, including three-quarter-length sleeves and a hemline that fell below her knee.

Queen Camilla's dress also included ornate embroidery on the bodice and near the neckline. The intricate detailing included contrasting fabric for added sartorial tension and a three-dimensional effect evocative of small square shapes in a uniform pattern running down the bodice of the dress and top of the skirt.
The playful fabric contrast was also featured on the cuff of Queen Camilla's dress sleeve. She wore a pair of navy pumps to accentuate her navy blue color palette. Her accessories included such pieces as her go-to Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets.
As for King Charles III's attire, the reigning monarch also opted for a dark, muted shade of blue, which he paired with a neutral tie, white button-down shirt and pocket square. The British royal couple's arrival in Rome on Monday marks the first day of their Italy tour.
As evidenced by previous tours, namely her 2024 trip to Australia, Queen Camilla regularly gravitates to her tried-and-true silhouettes. An admirer of the midi dress, Queen Camilla often styles looks courtesy of her go-to designers Anna Valentine and Fiona Clare.
Although Queen Camilla consistently gravitates toward the same silhouette, her style remains playful when it comes to patterns and accessories. Often she'll go into her own personal vault for a brooch to add to her attire or go the sentimental route, wearing a piece inherited from Queen Elizabeth II.
