Maha: Govt takes 11 decisions in Cabinet meeting
Mumbai, May 6 (UNI) The Maharashtra government, headed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, on Tuesday took 11 major decisions in a special meeting of the Cabinet held at Chaundi, the birthplace of Punyashloka Ahilyadevi Holkar, in Ahilyanagar to mark her tercentenary.
The government took a decision to produce a commercial Marathi and multilingual film based on the life of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar.
It was decided to implement the Adishakti Mission for empowerment of women in the state and present Adishakti Award. The Gram Panchayats that implement this Adishakti Abhiyan excellently will be given the Adishakti Award and Rs 10.50 crore will be spent to implement this campaign.
It was also decided to create sensitisation in the society regarding the economic, social, educational and health problems of women through the campaign, awareness and movement in the state.
The government took a decision to reduce malnutrition, infant mortality, maternal mortality, increase the level of education among girls by eliminating gender discrimination, create a child marriage-free society, prevent sexual and physical abuse and create a violence-free family and society, eliminate unwholesome customs, provide women with benefits from government schemes and provide economic development through self-employment opportunities.
The government also decided to implement a scheme named after Raje Yashwantrao Holkar to provide education to students of the Dhangar community in a renowned English medium residential school. This scheme will now be implemented as 'Yashwant Vidyarthi Yojana' and 10,000 students will be educated in a renowned school every year.
It was also decided to build hostels at the headquarters of the Revenue division for meritorious students of the Dhangar community, who are pursuing post-matriculation education, under the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Hostel Scheme.
The Cabinet also decided to conduct a survey of the ghats, wells, water distribution systems built by
Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar and to implement a special scheme for their preservation.
It was also decided to establish a new government medical college with a capacity of 100 students and a 430-bed attached hospital to be named as Punyashloka Ahilyadevi Holkar Government Medical College.
It was also decided to extend the period of Mission Mahagram programme being implemented under Village Social Transformation Foundation (VSTF) till 2028, instead of 2022-25.
The Cabinet also took a decision to issue Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority Ordinance-2025.
