Now, I know this sounds like an overexaggeration for a little editorial embellishment, but truly, my arsenal of lip products is hefty. From glosses to liners to masks, my lips have tried it all. Sephora's grab-and-go section has gotten me in trouble more times than I can count, and I can never leave Ulta without filling my basket with some of my drugstore faves. (Even if I promise myself I'm just perusing to see what's new on the market.) It's also become a slight occupational hazard with my downtime now spent testing dozens of beauty products—both niche and popular—for all you lovely readers. And believe me, I'm not complaining. With my vanity drawers now stuffed to the brim, buying any more lip products seems nonsensical, but when I hear whispers (more like shouts) of a lip product that has Gen-Z in an uproar, that's when I know it's time to put my beauty shopping skills to good use. Recently, I got my hands on the peptide lip tint from clean girl-forward beauty brand Rhode Skin, owned by model-turned-mogul Hailey Bieber. After a day of light research, I reluctantly typed my card info into the Rhode site to purchase not only one, but two of their lip tints—and one already PureWow-approved pocket blush—to see if they're worth their social media street cred. Here are my thoughts—plus a few original photos to show how the lip tints fared against my dark complexion. Want to know which buzzy products are *really* worth buying? Sign up for our shopping newsletter to uncover our favorite finds. 3 Editors Test the Rhode Peptide Lip Shape—and Here's Our Honest Review Rhode Skin The peptide lip tint is a sheer-but-buildable lippie promising to hydrate and plump your lips from day to night. Made with key ingredients of shea butter, peptide, cupuaçu and babassu, the 0.3-ounce tube is filled with a mild, unscented formula meant to provide a subtle tint while nourishing and locking in moisture on the lips. You've most likely seen it out in the wild already—either on social media or slotted in a passing stranger's phone case (also from the brand), wearing it proudly as an accessory. This tint is not to be confused with Rhode's OG lip treatment, which I'll touch on more below. Original Photos by Courtney Mason; She wears the shade "Espresso" without and with a lip liner First impressions: The packaging was very sleek and simple, and honestly felt very true to Rhode. Each lip tint tube is coordinated to match every shade offered. I purchased espresso, which is described as a rich brown, and peach pit, which comes off as a warm peachy pink. From the box to my fingertips, the lip tint's slim profile felt perfectly sized in my hand. I would say it's around the same size as the Summer Fridays lip balm but a bit shorter in stature. Upon first swipe, the texture felt more like a chapstick, but held the sheen and shine of a lip gloss or lip oil. My lips felt softer and nourished within minutes. Espresso is more suited to my skin tone, so I only noticed a slight tint, even with an extra layer. Peach pit, which the brand no longer offers, showed up as a sheer, warm pale pink on my lips, and I would have to add a lip liner if I layered on any more. During my tests of the two shades, I actually paired them with the Rhode peptide lip shape in the shade flex, a neutral dark brown, to see the difference with and without a liner. Rhode actually recommends for customers to apply the tint over a lip liner, and I wholeheartedly agree. A bit of added dimension on the lips goes a long way. As promised, the tint is unscented, unlike their original untinted peptide treatment, which comes in scents ranging from a cake-like vanilla to a refreshing watermelon. The one gripe I did have with the tint was hard to shake off. After days of grabbing and swiping and loving the lip tint, things took a turn. And if you already own the lippie, then you know what I'm referring to—the graininess. Yes, graininess. At first, I couldn't believe what I was feeling. It felt as if I had forgotten to wipe the post-breakfast crumbs off my lips before applying or a pesky stray hair had flown into my gloss, creating that uncomfortable feeling of chasing a ghost we all know and loathe. But after phoning a friend who also purchased the lip tint and wouldn't stop raving about it, she revealed hers was grainy as well, but it didn't deter her at all. Unfortunately, I can't relate. There are lots of things I love to pair with a great gloss, and texture isn't one of them. According to beauty content creator Oriana (@orianasiphonoum), who the brand reached out to, Rhode reports the gritty and grainy texture is due to the waxes in the tint that can harden with temperature changes. Any odd textures should smooth out upon application. Oriana and other creators had their own fix for the grittiness by soaking the lip tint tube in warm water and massaging it as it cooled down to make it as good as new. Although, I feel like the purpose of a sleek and portable lippie is that there should be no busywork; just grab it and go. Submerging your product in heated water before use seems to diminish the point. However, after some time passing and rubbing my lips together a few times, the graininess did become an afterthought, with the moisturized feeling taking over once more. Original Photos by Courtney Mason; She wears the shade "Peach Pit" without and with a lip liner Overall, the Rhode peptide lip tint is a good moisturizing lip product, even with the surprise appearance of the grainy texture. While it's not my favorite peptide lip product in my collection, it still gets the job done of nourishing the lips while providing an elevated look more than the average lip balm. If you're not short on lip products like I am, I advise skipping it. But if you're looking for an everyday lip option and it's your first time shopping with the brand, it's a good choice to snag first. At $18 for 0.3 ounces, I'd also say that's not a terrible price compared to my tried-and-true peptide lip treatment from Olehenriksen, which sits at $22 for 0.4 ounces. I will not lie, I've been hesitant to try Rhode Skin products in the past due to my feelings about the influx of celebrity beauty brands flooding the industry. But now, after trying the lip tint, the pocket blush and more recently, their peptide lip shape, I have opened myself up to trying even more from the brand. Between their highly-rated skin care and their latest berry-toned releases for spring, I'm curious to see what else the brand has up its sleeve in the future. main ingredients: shea butter, peptide, cupuaçu, babassu shades: 5 $18 at Rhode Skin A Beauty Editor's Honest Review of Rhode's New Pocket Blush PureWow's editors and writers have spent more than a decade shopping online, digging through sales and putting our home goods, beauty finds, wellness picks and more through the wringer—all to help you determine which are actually worth your hard-earned cash. Rhode Lip Liner Review: Glamour 's Beauty Editor Tries Three Different Shades

After months of teasing on social media, Hailey Bieber's Rhode lip liner—a.k.a. the Rhode Peptide Lip Shape—is finally here. Featuring the brand's signature peptide ingredient, the Lip Shape marks Rhode's second color cosmetics launch following the release of the Pocket Blush last year. If you're a beauty obsessive, you've probably seen some of your favorite influencers swiping on the Rhode lip liner and blending it out with its silicone smudging end. The formula, which features skin-care infused makeup, promises 'soft-focus color and high-performance skin care' to give the lips a contoured effect. $24.00, Rhode As for the skin care in question? The brand says it uses a 'short chain of three amino acids,' to soften and hydrate lips, as well as fenugreek extract, which derives from organic fenugreek sprouts, to enhance volume and give a firmer appearance. The Lip Shape is available in 11 colors, all with different undertones: Lift (soft neutral pink), Press (warm pinky mauve), Bend (soft peachy beige), Lunge (rose beige), Twist (warm taupe), Balance (caramel brown), Lean (warm medium brown), Stretch (neutral mocha brown), Flex (rich neutral brown), Spin (rich plump brown), and Move (deep cool brown). Described by the brand as 'creamier and more effortless than a lip liner,' the Lip Shape can be used to line, overline, and fill in lips, and is meant to be paired with the Pocket Blush (another multiuse product) or the Peptide Lip Tint. I was only able to receive three of the Rhode lip liners to test before launch (supply versus demand, people!) and chose my colors without swatches based on the descriptions. Since the colors seemed to be divided into three families—pink, beige, and brown—I decided to try one from each that I felt would best suit my skin tone. I was especially excited to try a brown shade, which has become my go-to color for lip combos recently. And the shade Spin, a rich, plump brown, greatly resembled one of my current favorite lip liners, the Fenty Beauty Trace'd Out Pencil Lip Liner in Brown'd Out. When I first applied Spin, I worried that I'd picked the completely wrong shade. But I decided to trust the process and see if Rhode's claims about the formula being soft-focused and easily blendable were true after all. They weren't wrong: The formula was really smooth and creamy, and I was surprised at how wide the tip was. It's definitely more 'lip crayon meets lip liner,' but the wide tip ended up being a lot easier to use because it doesn't require as much precision. I applied a bit unevenly on my bottom lip—but again, I decided to trust the process. I really went to town with the smudger, which looks like a tough plastic but is actually a really pliant, soft silicone material. It helped in diffusing the color and creating that contoured gradient. I topped things off with Summer Friday's Lip Butter Balm in Hot Cocoa, which is a super-sheer brown. The pairing worked together beautifully, and I thought my lips had a nice touch of dimension. $24.00, Rhode Lunge is described as a rosy beige, but it was more of a pink on my skin tone. I usually don't apply lip liner under nude or pink lip products, but I was pleasantly surprised by Lunge, a subtle shade that layered well under my favorite Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Toast, a rose taupe. It gave my lips just the right amount of dimension without looking too heavy or lined. In fact, my lips looked more lifted than usual. I'm not sure if the highly touted skin care ingredients did much for me other than with its functional purpose—creating an extra-smooth and creamy liner—but then again, I recently wrote a whole story on whether or skin care is efficacious in makeup. The TL;DR? It's a supplemental benefit that certainly doesn't hurt. $24.00, Rhode I realize Stretch is another brown; however, it was more of a beige with my skin tone. I would consider the color a shade or two darker than my natural lip color and paired it with another good neutral for me: the Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Toast. I found it to be a super-flattering option for no-makeup makeup days when I want to look a bit more together. In a pinch, I can use it filled in all over my lips. My only note of feedback? The liners aren't very long-lasting. You'll find yourself reapplying often, especially if you're eating and drinking. Given that Rhode is all about the 'you, but better' look, it's not surprising that the formulas aren't long-wear or full-coverage. If you want something that survives the night, you might have to pivot to a traditional lip liner. The Rhode Peptide Lip Shape is a better option for everyday, when you want hydrated, natural-looking lips. $24.00, Rhode That being said, you might not mind the constant reapplying. There's no denying that Rhode products have become a status symbol (again, supply versus demand!). Whenever I've pulled the Lip Shape out at dinners, it's attracted lots of fanfare and questions. Plus, it's truly easy and fun to apply. The smudger feels great to run against your lips, and the crayon goes on so smoothly. At the very least, the Lip Shape liner is a pretty low-stakes purchase at $24. If you can get your hands on one, it's worth discovering what all the hype is about. Rhode's Lip Liner—Worn by Hailey Bieber and Tate McRae—Is Finally Here

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." For years, we've known Hailey Bieber's go-to lip combination involves swiping on a lip liner, smudging it out, and then layering on a glossy lip balm. So it was no surprise that when she launched her beauty brand Rhode, it included a lip balm—the Peptide Lip Treatment—which has since won Cosmo beauty awards and the hearts of everyone on our feeds. The one piece of this puzzle we've been missing is the lip liner... until now. Bieber's been teasing a lip liner in a unique shape for months, and we finally have it: Rhode Peptide Lip Shape, which is officially available to shop now today. (!) Shop Now$24.00 at The Peptide Lip Shape isn't a lip liner though, per se. It's meant to be a contour for your lips to add definition and color while also making your lips look and feel more plump and hydrated. The formula actually features peptides, the go-to ingredient in Rhode's lip balm, to help soften, moisturize, and smooth lips over time. This leads to a much creamier, buildable liner that glides on easily and can be buffed out with the built-in silicone smudger on the other end. In 11 shades ranging from light pinks and mauves to taupes and mid-tone browns to dark ebony tones, you can opt for a subtle contoured effect or a full-on ombré lip moment. In the promotional images, Bieber modeled one of her go-to shades—Press, a warm pink—while musician Tate McRae wore Balance, a caramel brown (which Bieber also says she swears by as a daily contour shade). Try gliding the Peptide Lip Shape around the outline of your lips (you don't have to be too precise or precious with it, according to Bieber, which is the beauty of this soft formula), then blend out the edges with the smudger. Feel free to overline your lips a lil to add some volume, or follow your natural lip line. Then, dab on a lip balm for some shine and extra hydration. The Peptide Lip Shape is available starting January 30 at 12 p.m. EST, and if you're thinking about picking one (or, idk, five) up, do it quick. Like most Rhode launches, this one will probably sell pretty fast. You can grab one for $24, or snag this Peptide Lip Shape Set and choose four shades for $92.$24.00 at at at You Might Also Like Here's What NOT to Wear to a Wedding Meet the Laziest, Easiest Acne Routine You'll Ever Try
