Derelict Bradford Rhodesway swimming pool building hit by fire
An investigation is under way into the cause of a fire which engulfed a former swimming pool in Bradford. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) were called at about 16:00 BST on Monday to the fire at the former Rhodesway Pool on Oaks Lane. Eight crews and an aerial ladder were sent to the fire was put out but crews remained at the scene overnight and West Yorkshire Police were informed, a fire service spokesperson said.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way with police asking anyone with information to get in pool was sold by Bradford Council at the end of auction estimate was £40-50,000 but it realised more than 10 times that, selling for £508, pool site was one of 11 council-owned properties to go under the hammer, with plots of land, empty homes and an old filling station also being sold.
