Kingwood holds first Chili and Pepperoni Roll Cook Off
KINGWOOD, (WBOY) — The community came together Saturday in Kingwood for their first ever Chili and Pepperoni Roll Cook Off.
Around 250 people went through the Community Center today to try some chili and pepperoni rolls. Eleven groups threw their hat in the ring to show that they have the best recipes.
The event was put on by Kingwood Community Engagement, Friends of the Library, Kingwood, the McGrew House, Friends Thru Cancer and the Kingwood Civic Club.

Rhonda Ridenour of Kingwood Community Engagement said there was something for everyone at the event.
'They varied from very spicy to very sweet so I'm guessing it's just your preference. We had some white chili, we had dark chili, we had different pepperoni rolls, some cheese some without,' Ridenour said. 'So, it was a big variety.'
The Kingwood Public Library won both the people's and judge's choice for best chili. M And M's Bakery was the judge's choice for best pepperoni roll, and Hot Rod was the people's choice.
