Udderly cool experience: Pato O'Ward milks cow on Carb Day, hoping for Indy 500 luck

INDIANAPOLIS -- Midway through Thursday afternoon's Indianapolis 500 media day press conference with his front row compatriots, Pato O'Ward realized how jealous he was of polesitter -- and more importantly, rookie -- Robert Shwartzman. The Prema Racing driver was asked about his experience with one of the Indy 500's most sacred, quirky traditions: the race rookies milking a cow on race week. It's a nod to the race and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's partnership with the American Dairy Association of Indiana and one of the race's most sacred traditions of the winner drinking (and then dousing themselves) in milk. And before Shwartzman could respond, the bubbly Arrow McLaren driver chimed in: "I'm jealous. I wanted to do that. I've never milked a cow." After not making the race on his first attempt in 2019, O'Ward made his rookie Indy 500 debut in 2020, but the tradition was skipped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Joked Shwartzman in response to the driver who's finished runner-up in two of the last three 500s: "That's maybe what you need to have a proper good luck for winning the Indy 500. The woman (likely a ADAI representative) came to me and said, 'The people who didn't milk the cow, they never won the Indy 500.' "It's bad luck." 'Hand him over to the world': How Pato O'Ward became IndyCar's biggest star After a couple social media exchanges, a cow -- Rhianna, or Ri Ri for short -- was stationed for the 26-year-old Mexican driver to try and shake his bad luck mojo off ahead of Sunday and his best 500 starting spot (3rd) at 7:45 a.m. Friday morning in the IMS Museum parking lot. Silverstone Farm in Greenfield helped make Ri Ri available, and O'Ward was smitten when he rolled up fresh out of his motorhome on a team golf cart to get a taste of the experience. After some quick instruction -- 'Don't put your feet under her' for one, and 'Run your hand right down through here and squeeze' among them -- and after Ri Ri settled a bit with some comforting petting from the hopeful future Indy 500 winner, O'Ward slowly bent down and went to work. He managed to help produce some milk rather quickly on his first try. 33 things to know about Indy 500: Drivers to watch, loads of history, where Penske finishes "Let's go! This is great, how fun. Dang, you were ready this morning, weren't you big girl? Wow," O'Ward chuckled. Perhaps the most surprising part of all for O'Ward: Learning that cows produce 6-8 gallons of milk a day. "Oh my god, oh, so I can do some more if I want?" he joked. In reality, fellow front-row starter Takuma Sato told O'Ward on Thursday that he got out of milking a cow during his first year at the 500, and the veteran Japanese driver has managed to become a two-time 500 winner seeking No. 3 on Sunday. O'Ward's team boss, Tony Kanaan, said Friday morning he likely was at the 500 rookies milking session in 2002, but not a chance did he actually get his hands dirty. But if O'Ward wins on Sunday, he said he'll be making a trip out to Greenfield during the Month of May part of his annual schedule. "It would be cool if I win on Sunday, for that milk to be from Rhianna," O'Ward said, talking to the ADAI rep on-hand Friday morning, to which he was told the milk will certainly be from an Indiana dairy farm. "Okay, well maybe not from Rhianna, but maybe a sister or a cousin." He laughed, before being asked his winner's milk preference. "Whole! Give it to me as it comes."

Rihanna Finally Releases A Song Titled ‘'Friend Of Mine'' But It's Not What Fans Expected

Subscribe to our FREE Barbadian singer and businesswomen Rihanna has not released music for almost nine years. To put the gap years into perspective, her last album ANTI was released in 2016! Her fans have been asking for her to drop new songs. However, she has always kept them waiting while she focused on her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty, her lingerie and activewear band, Savage x Fenty, and growing her family. She last announced the makings of her upcoming album R9, a fan-given nickname for her ninth studio album, in 2020, and there was not much news since. Imagine her fans' excitement when she dropped a new song and a music video for the upcoming Smurfs movie. Many were expecting another hit song or a dancey track from the queen but the song 'Friend Of Mine'' was as catchy but a little different from Rihanna's sound, so-to-speak. In the whole song, Rihanna sings one line ''feel like a friend of mine'' repeatedly. Since the movie is aimed at young children and families, it's understandable that RiRi has to keep the song simple, memorable, and PG. However, this drew amused comments from her adult fans who have waited for her to drop a new track after all these years. A YouTube user jokingly wrote, 'yall want music, yall ain't say what kind'' while another person believes the singer was just dropping by the studio for a visit when she was called in to record a line. Someone else thanked Rihanna for the ''voice note'' in the song while another user admitted they knew they were being trolled when they saw Rihanna smiling in the beginning of the video. Nevertheless, the reception to the song was positive with some praising the song for being versatile. It's not the first time Rihanna recorded a song for a kids movie. Generate Key Takeaways The 2025 Met Gala garnered memorable looks, surprise appearances, and most importantly, a pregnancy announcement from one of its yearly highly anticipated guests, Rihanna. As the singer stepped out in her expertly tailored look that hugged her baby bump, she welcomed questions about her bun in the oven and provided an album update. 'I'm good, I'm shockingly feeling okay and not too overwhelmed at the moment,' RiRi said on the carpet while speaking to ET. The host congratulated the mother of two and wasted no time asking the question all her fans wanted to know: 'Is this putting R9 on pause even longer? Because you were in production.' The 'Umbrella' singer quickly shut down the thought and assured that everything is still going as planned. 'No,' she said in a sing-songy tone. 'Maybe a few videos but I could still sing.' The Navy immediately caught wind of the interaction and shared their thoughts as they processed whether or not they are taking this album update seriously. 'Rihanna said I ain't making music I'm making babies lmao,' a top comment reads on YouTube as another person empathetically typed, 'I hope it's a gal, a mini Riri, rest with your brand new baby and then come back to work carribean queen!' 'She lie so much just like me,' one person quipped on X. Elsewhere in the same interview, Rih also shut down rumors about her secretly getting married to A$AP Rocky. The interviewer pointed out the most recent Savage X Fenty drop was a bridal collection, but the 9x Grammy winner wasn't having it. 'No, girl! You know I don't keep secrets very well,' she said with a lighthearted eye-roll before walking away. It's worth noting that back in June 2024, Rihanna said she's 'starting over' with R9, but 'I don't wanna neglect the songs that I have.' Since she first teased the highly anticipated body of work many years ago, the certified hitmaker has performed at the Super Bowl halftime show (and made history doing so), safely delivered two baby boys (Riot and RZA), released a track for the official Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, and scaled her Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty brands into global empires. Although releasing new music hasn't been on the top of her to-do list over the years, it's safe to say Rihanna has never stopped working around the clock to pour into her passions. One thing about ? She knows how to arrive 'Fashionably Late'! Another thing about Rihanna? She knows how to shut down the Met Gala! One more thing about Rihanna? She surely knows the most iconic way(s) to do her pregnancy announcement – and that too, without spending any words whatsoever! Met Gala isn't unfamiliar territory for Queen RiRi ! Nor is closing down the carpet! But this time, the 'Diamonds' star took it a notch higher and revealed the baby bump on the Met Gala Blue Carpet! Diamond on the Blue Carpet! Just when we thought that Black Dandyism couldn't get any better than that, Queen RiRi did her thing! As her annual ritual goes, she came, she closed down the carpet, and she slayed – with a baby bump on display! Earlier, when her beau and the co-chair of the Met Gala this year, A$AP Rocky, hit the red carpet alone, the rumors were abuzz about whether Rihanna was going to skip this year's event after she let the world have a sneak peek at her baby bump just last night. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now However, Queen RiRi obviously knew better, and had a plan to do her pregnancy reveal in the most spectacular way possible – even better than the Super Bowl Halftime show! And as always, the wait was worth it! Rihanna — being fashionably late — hit the carpet around 10 pm, adorning a boned corset by Marc Jacobs and a wide-brimmed black hat. Confirming her pregnancy, the 'We Found Love' star seemed to respond when she met shouts of congratulations with: 'Thank you!' Mother RiRi: The music superstar and the beauty mogul is already a mom to two children: sons Riot Rose, 21 months, and RZA Athelston, who turns 3 this month. Rihanna is expecting baby No. 3 with her beau, A$AP Rocky. However, like previous times, the pop icon did not reveal the gender of her yet-to-be-born baby. The romance: Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's romance has been one of a kind! The strength of their bond has even withstood the turbulent trial of Rocky, who was found not guilty in his trial on two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. The power couple first met in September 2012, during rehearsals for their performance of "Cockiness (Love It)" at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. While their initial encounter was a collaboration on a song and performance, their romantic relationship began later, with Vogue stating that it blossomed in late 2019, and Harper's BAZAAR confirming that they went official in summer 2020. Rihanna flaunts her baby bump yet again but this time in a solo picture

Baby Rhino Frolicking Like Puppy Is Moment of Pure Joy Everyone Needs

Care for Wild Sanctuary is the world's largest rhinoceros sanctuary, caring for rescued, injured, and orphaned rhinos who have been the victims of illegal poaching. The facility covers many thousands of acres in South Africa, and is dedicated to raising orphaned rhinos who may, hopefully one day be rereleased into the wild. The future looks difficult for rhinoceroses like the baby in this video, as they are still regularly hunted and poached based on faulty beliefs about their horns. They are also, like every other wild species on Earth, experiencing enormous amounts of habitat destruction. But all of that is unknown to the adorable baby in this video. Here we meet RiRi, a sweet baby black rhino calf, who loves nothing more than to frolic and jump on her way out to the veldt for a walk.'This little black rhino orphan has spent the morning in the veldt with her caregiver Lucas,' writes the Sanctuary on their social media page. 'As part of her rehabilitation program, RiRi walks daily to the veldt to browse on leaves and shrubs. The goal of successful rehabilitation is to prepare a rhino orphan for rewilding and release back into their natural habitat so encouraging natural eating and browsing behaviors is very important. But the cooler weather has made RiRi particularly playful and so full of energy. Check out her gloriously happy jump at the end!' It's the cutest thing. Black rhinos are the smaller of the two rhinoceros species in Africa, and though also critically endangered, have a slightly larger population extant. Despite the name, black and white rhinos are actually very similar in color, and their color can vary between individual members of each species. Black rhinos are more notable for their 'hook' lip, which is different from the other species' square lips. They live in southern and eastern Africa, and are generally solitary creatures, except for a female rhino and her calf. Calves stay with their mother for about two to four years, so this orphaned rhino is way too young to be out on her own, and needs the assistance of humans if she has any hope of survival. Two rhinoceros species have been declared extinct or functionally extinct in this century: the norther white rhinoceros and the western black rhinoceros. Though some northern white rhinos still exist under heavy guard, the only two specimens are female and cannot reproduce. The biggest threat facing rhinos is poaching for their horns, used in a variety of traditional medicines and rituals, especially in East Asia, despite no evidence that it has any beneficial effect. Though many efforts have been made to stop this trade, from levying heavy fines to rewriting herbal medicine manuals in China to remove the ingredient, to even removing horns from living rhinos and poisoning the rhinos horns, only a small treatment of anti-poaching measures are effective. And the rhinos in the wild are still being hunted. Looking for more PetHelpful updates? Follow us on YouTube for more entertaining videos.
