The actor made sure to celebrate his wife, Genelia D'Souza, on the special occasion. Taking to his Instagram stories, Riteish shared a loving video that showed Genelia giggling and playing with Riaan and Rahyl. He also wrote a heartfelt message for Genelia, acknowledging her multifaceted roles in their relationship and her remarkable role as a mother.
He penned, 'Friend, girlfriend, Baiko and now the bestest aai!! @geneliad. Happy Mother's Day."
Genelia quickly responded to her husband's heartfelt wish with an affectionate reply on her Instagram story. She wrote, 'Thank you Navra."
Ritesh and Genelia's love story started after they met on the sets of their debut film, Tujhe Meri Kasam, in 2002. Their friendship quickly blossomed into love, and after dating for 9 long years, the duo got hitched on February 3, 2012. The couple embraced parenthood after welcoming their first child, a son named Riaan, in 2014, and Rahyl was born in 2016.
On the work front, Riteish Deshmukh was most recently seen in Raid 2. The sequel to the 2018 film Raid released on May 1 and has impressed audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances by the cast. In Raj Kumar Gupta's directorial, Ajay Devgn reprises his iconic role as senior income tax officer Amay Patnaik, while Riteish Deshmukh plays the role of a powerful and corrupt politician, Dada Manohar Bhai.
Up next, he will be seen in the comedy franchise Housefull 5. The film boasts an ensemble cast of talented actors, including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, Fardeen Khan, Johnny Lever, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff, among others.
Genelia Deshmukh, on the other hand, is all set to make her comeback in the Bollywood industry after more than a decade. She will be seen in RS Prasanna's highly anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par. The film, scheduled to release in theatres on June 20, will feature her alongside Aamir Khan. It is a dramedy that tells the story of a self-important basketball coach whose outlook on life changes profoundly after he is tasked with training a team of differently-abled children. Sitaare Zameen Par is the official Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones and introduces a fresh ensemble of young talent, with ten newcomers making their big-screen debut.
Among them are Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
