Abu Dhabi closes 5 restaurants, including Pak Ravi, 1 supermarket in crackdown

Five restaurants and one supermarket were ordered shut in Abu Dhabi, authorities said on Tuesday. Among the closed eateries were Pak Ravi Restaurant, Lahore Garden Grill Restaurant and Cafeteria, Karak Future Cafeteria, Rich and Fresh Supermarket, Salty Desi Darbar Restaurant and Al Maqam Corner Restaurant. The decision was taken after the establishments violated food safety requirements by recurring instances of high-risk items being present, which have a direct impact on food safety and consumer health. These food outlets also failed to correct these violations. Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels. The closure order will remain in place as long as the reasons for it exist. The businesses will be allowed to resume operations once the conditions are rectified, and they meet all the necessary requirements for operating the business, and the reasons for the violation are removed. Authorities in the emirate have zero tolerance for offences that put residents' health and safety at risk. Inspections are regularly conducted across the emirate to ensure establishments' compliance with the safety standards. On Monday, a restaurant serving Bengali food has been ordered to close down by the authority for violating food safety laws and posing a direct threat to public health. Rupashi Bangla Restaurant LLC, located on Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street in Abu Dhabi, has been served an administrative notice by the inspecting officials. The restaurant, operating under commercial license number CN-1037388, was found to be in serious violation of Law No. (2) of 2008 concerning food safety in the emirate and related regulations.
