Arizona man accused of making terroristic threat at planned protest
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A man in Arizona was arrested and faces charges for making a terroristic threat at an upcoming planned protest, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's office deputies.
Richard Charles Bertram, 55, of Golden Valley, Arizona, was arrested by deputies on Friday.
It happened around 1:38 p.m., when deputies were notified of threats of violence posted by Bertram on social media, according to authorities.
The reporting parties said that the post showed an image of guns and ammunition with threats of shooting attendees of an upcoming planned protest. A records check revealed Bertram is currently on probation for weapons charges, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's office.
Deputies then located Bertram at a home in the 5100 block of Apache Road in Golden Valley, where he admitted to making the post, authorities said.
Bertram was taken to the Adult Detention Facility in Kingman, Arizona, without further incident. MCSO said.
No details were released by authorities on which planned protest Bertram was accused of threatening.
