Police identify suspect in armed robbery of local Boost Mobile
NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) – Police have identified a suspect who they say is responsible for a robbery at a Boost Mobile store in New Castle.
Police said the suspect used a knife during the robbery at 4:42 p.m. Monday. According to a post on the New Castle Police Department's Facebook page, investigators were able to identify the robber as Richard Neely, Jr.
Police took him into custody Wednesday afternoon but said he had a medical issue, which required him to be transported to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.
A warrant has been issued for Neely and when released, he will again be taken into custody and arraigned on charges of robbery, theft, receiving stolen property and terroristic threats.
Police said during their investigation, detectives found several stolen cell phones and some clothing that was believed to have been worn by Neely during the robbery.
