USF football set for afternoon kickoffs vs. Gators, ‘Canes
One of the most unrelenting non-conference football schedules in USF history also will be one of the most humid. The school announced Thursday the Bulls' games at Florida (Sept. 6) and Miami (Sept. 13) will kick off at 4:15 and 4:30 p.m., respectively. SEC Network will televise the USF-Gators contest, while the Bulls-Canes will be carried on The CW. Advertisement The sauna-like conditions won't stop there. USF's final non-conference game, Sept. 20 at home vs. South Carolina State, will kick off at noon and will be available on ESPN+. Kickoff times, and some dates, are determined by schools' respective network partners. At this point, USF — which launched nearly 30 years ago behind the premise of bringing Saturday night college football back to the bay area — has no Saturday evening home contests slated. However, kickoff times of two home games (Oct. 18 vs. FAU, Nov. 29 vs. Rice) have yet to be determined. Three home games (Aug. 28 vs. Boise State, Oct. 3 vs. Charlotte, Nov. 6 vs. UTSA) are weeknight contests. Simeon Rice will be inducted into Bucs Ring of Honor
The Buccaneers are set to add their first player to their Ring of Honor since 2019. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that edge rusher Simeon Rice will be inducted into the group in 2025. Cornerback Ronde Barber was the last player inducted and the Bucs have added former defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and former head coach Bruce Arians since Barber's induction. Rice moved from the Cardinals to the Bucs as a free agent in 2001 and helped the team to its first Super Bowl title in 2002. Rice was a first-team All-Pro after recording 15.5 sacks during the regular season and he posted four sacks and three forced fumbles during the team's playoff run. The run in Tampa extended through the 2006 season and Rice had 250 tackles, 69.5 sacks, four interceptions, 19 forced fumbles, and an interception during his time with the Bucs.

Buccaneers plan "massive renovation" to Raymond James Stadium
Raymond James Stadium opened in 1998. The Buccaneers currently plan not to replace it but to renovate it. Via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Bucs co-owner Joel Glazer told reporters on Tuesday that the team plans a 'massive renovation' of its longtime home. 'It's something you're always looking at because the fan experience is so important in the NFL, in all sports,' Glazer said. 'So we're constantly looking at the stadium, constantly looking at how we can improve it. We did stuff about six years ago, but now it's six years later and there's been a lot of new stadiums built, a lot of different renovations done. . . . So we're currently looking at all those types of things and evaluating it. There will be a time and a place but we will always want to improve the stadium and keep it up to the highest standards.' The comments come at a time when, as explained by Stroud, local officials claim there hasn't been much communication with the team about the plans for the stadium. 'I've heard people say there's been no communication,' Glazer said. 'That's actually not very accurate. You know, we're going through a phase right now where we're assessing the stadium, what might be needed. I know they're assessing the stadium and what might be needed. Once both of us are done with our assessments, then we come together and work through things.' The goal is to attract Super Bowls and other major events to the venue. The question ultimately becomes whether and when the best solution will be a new facility.
