IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA Season 17 Trailer Teases Absurdity, Crossovers, and Cocktails — GeekTyrant
After yet another long wait, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is storming back with Season 17, and yes, the trailer confirms the gang is still spiraling gloriously out of control.
Fans might remember Season 14's finale feeling a little like a goodbye, but since then the show has doubled down on its signature chaos. Season 15 took the crew to Ireland, and Season 16 brought Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul into the mix with a mezcal-fueled satire of celebrity liquor brands.
Season 17? It kicks off with a crossover, the second half of Abbott Elementary's earlier 'Volunteers' episode, now appropriately titled, 'The Gang F***s Up Abbott Elementary.'
The trailer hints at plenty more deranged antics. Frank appears to be taking a shot at love, or something close to it, as the lead on The Golden Bachelor, while Charlie shows up with a shaved face that somehow makes him look even more unsettling.
Dennis and Mac pose as paramedics, with Mac aggressively 'helping' a choking man in the most Mac way possible. It's classic Sunny misbehavior, blending absurd disguises with a complete lack of regard for public safety or common decency.
Familiar faces are making returns as well including Rickety Cricket, this time with dreadlocks, along with Uncle Jack and the eternally tormented Waitress. Dee, meanwhile, seems to be diving headfirst into the season's most physical comedy as she clings to the back of a speeding car while bleeding profusely.
And if you ever wondered what a slapping competition at Paddy's Pub might look like, Season 17 is ready to deliver. Somehow, after nearly two decades, Always Sunny is still finding new ways to be creatively unhinged, and I love it!
