Austin FC sign D Riley Thomas to MLS deal
April 11 - Austin FC on Friday signed defender Riley Thomas through the end of 2025 with options for 2026 and 2027. Thomas, 23, also has a loan deal with MLS NEXT Pro side Austin FC II and remains eligible for matches there. "I'm happy to sign an MLS contract with Austin FC," he said. "I already feel as though I have grown a lot as a player in the short time since I joined the Club and I'm grateful for all the support I've been given by the coaches, staff, and my teammates." Thomas has been on Austin's bench for the past four MLS matches on a series of short-term agreements. Austin selected Thomas in the second round (42nd overall) in December's MLS SuperDraft out of North Carolina. --Field Level Media

BU art exhibit celebrates Women's History Month
VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Binghamton University celebrated Women's history month with a special art exhibit that highlights the essence of heroines. BU students, faculty, and staff submitted artwork inspired by this year's theme, 'a rainbow in someone's cloud.' There were different categories of artwork, from visual art like paintings and drawings, to performing arts, cinema, and graphic design. One winner was selected for every category and was awarded a $250 prize. The winner of the writing category, Riley Thomas, submitted a poem called 'we are girls together,' about her relationship with her two sisters. 'So, I am often doing my best to be that rainbow for people. That is what my entire staff, like our whole is in our program. And so, when I was thinking about, okay who is my rainbow, my sisters were like the first two people to absolutely pop into my brain and really guided this experience and my writing. Obviously, it's about them,' said Thomas. Thomas says a rainbow is a sign of hope. The event was hosted by the Kaschak Institute for Social Justice for Women and Girls.
