Marches in Yeola & Nashik to protest Pahalgam attack
Nashik: Hundreds of residents in Yeola town on Friday took part in a bandh and protest march, in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam.
The bandh, called by the
Sakal Hindu Samaj
in Yeola, saw support from traders who closed their shops for the day.
Deputy SP Bajirao Mahajan said there was no untoward incident during the bandh. "We maintained a strict bandobast comprising 100 policemen, 25 women constables, four teams of Riot Control Police, comprising 48 personnel and 15 officers, in the presence of an additional SP and two deputy SPs."
The protest march started at 9:30am, from the Vanwasi Ram Temple at Ganga Darwaja. Participants travelled through different parts of the town and culminated in a meeting near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vyapari Sankul.

Citizens participating in the protest march said the agitation was also against the recent attack on three cow vigilantes in the town.
The police arrested five people in connection with the attack.
Protestors also demanded strict action from Indian govt against the perpetrators who killed innocent tourists in Pahalgam. In Nashik city, around 80 people participated in a similar protest march taken out by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Friday.
The march started at 7 pm, from Ashok Stambh to Hutatma Smarak, during which the members raised anti-Pakistan slogans. The members also lit mobile torches to express solidarity with the victims of the terrorist attack.
Ajinkya Sane, Nikhil Pawar, Amit Ghuge, Sunil Kedar, Sagar Shelar, Sachin More, Praveen Bhate, Prashant Wagh, Ravindra Gangurde, Vinod Yewlekar, Gopal Rajput, and other activists were present in this march. The march concluded at the Hutatma Smarak. The march concluded at the Hutatma Smarak.
