Rivals Camp Series: Position MVPs from Atlanta
RIVERDALE, Ga. -- The Rivals Camp Series made its annual stop in Atlanta on Sunday and many top prospects put together impressive performances. Here is a breakdown of the MVPs from the event: MORE FROM ATLANTA: Top performers from Saturday's Rivals Combine Series event CLASS OF 2025 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2027 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State TRANSFER PORTAL: Full coverage | Player ranking | Team ranking | Transfer search | Transfer Tracker QUARTERBACK: Jayce Johnson Johnson captured MVP honors in a stacked field of passers from the Southeast competing in Atlanta. Johnson throws with torque and is extremely accurate -- throwing short and intermediate passes and also attacking downfield. The four-star prospect layered throws and was able to balance his touch with his fastball, and was consistently placing the ball anywhere he wanted on the field Sunday. RUNNING BACK: Andrew Beard Beard upped his stock in a big way by earning MVP honors on Sunday. Beard was exceptional catching the football out of the backfield and was routing up opposing linebackers, who struggled to keep pace with speed and quick cuts. The four-star prospect is a three-down playmaker and proved as much in Sunday's camp setting. RECEIVER/TIGHT END: Kaiden Prothro Prothro was nearly unguardable and won MVP in a highly-competitive field of pass-catchers. The four-star standout has elite hands and is a mismatch working outside the numbers and also in the middle of the field. We love his catch radius, his ability to play above the rim and the competitiveness to win on contested balls and dominate in the red zone. OFFENSIVE LINE: Gabriel Osenda Osenda saw reps on both the left and right tackle spots and was equally as dynamic in both spots. At 330 pounds, the Tennessee verbal played with excellent bend and feet, used leverage and finished at the end of reps. Osenda has made drastic leaps and bounds with his technique, and it showed with a statement performance against a strong field of defensive linemen on Sunday. He's a stock-up prospect as a premium position. Advertisement SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TENNESSEE FANS AT DEFENSIVE LINE: JaReylan McCoy McCoy gave opposing tackles fits all day rushing from a two-point stance and also with a hand in the dirt. The Mississippi blue-chipper has length and can win with either speed or power, and continues to build up an array of pass-rush moves to keep tackles off-balance. McCoy had some of the best reps of Sunday's camp at the DL position. LINEBACKER: Duyon Forkpa Jr. Forkpa was a talented hybrid rush linebacker that won reps with speed, then made his money working out at linebacker in the skill-position session in the afternoon. The four-star prospect is a three-down player that can drop back into coverage, is a stout run defender, and showed his ability to put pressure on the QB on third downs. We loved his traits and instincts in coverage -- with rare ability to keep pace and cover backs in space. DEFENSIVE BACK: Jayden Aparicio-Bailey Aparicio-Bailey won reps playing in press and playing off. He was sound rotating and flipping his hips, sticky in coverage and aggressive making plays on the football in the air. Our first live eval of Aparicio-Bailey was through the roof -- as a defensive back capable of playing cornerback, safety or nickel. He was consistently great in coverage all of Sunday.

One of Notre Dame football top 2027 targets wins Rivals Camp defensive back MVP honors
One of Notre Dame football top 2027 targets wins Rivals Camp defensive back MVP honors Notre Dame football is on a great run in the 2026 recruiting class, and the momentum they are building is bleeding into the 2027 cycle as well. One of the Irish's top cornerback targets, Texas' Jerry Outhouse Jr., took home the Dallas Rivals Camp defensive back MVP honors over the weekend. The 6-foot, and 175-pound defender is already nationally ranked, checking in as the No. 73 overall player in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He was one of many 2027 prospect to receive a scholarship on 'Pot of Gold Day,' showing him that Notre Dame is extremely interested in having him on campus for three-to-five years. The Irish are building momentum in his home state, as on Saturday they received a commitment from 2026 running back Javian Osborne. It won't be an easy recruiting battle to win, as Rivals points out that he's also high on Texas A&M, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. Regardless of who is the competition, Notre Dame is riding high on the recruiting trail and should continue to use its momentum to its advantage.

It was verified in the shuttle run, where Hatcher was able to touch 4.39 seconds on his final attempt. Advertisement That combination of size and quickness has led to recent offers from Wake Forest and others as his profile rises. 20206 OL Dametrius Hixson: The Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson offensive tackle jumped out because of his big frame standing at 6-foot-7, 325 pounds. Hixson holds offers from Bethune-Cookman, Bowling Green and Morgan State. He'll get to test his skills against some athletic players off the edge on Sunday. 2026 EDGE Maurice Jones: The potential EDGE prospect certainly met the eye test walking around at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds. He also moved very well at his size during drills so it'll be interesting to see him work in one-on-ones. Advertisement He's talking to Mississippi State and just came from a visit last week. He'll take a visit to Starkville in June. 2026 WR Saphir Miller: Another speedy tester, the Ivy League prospect clocked a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash on an impressive 6-foot-1, near 200-pound frame. The athleticism has already warranted interest from Nebraska and Purdue in Big Ten country to this point. 2027 QB James Perrone: One of the top passers in the area in 2024, Perrone showed he was one of the quickest in the field as well. The rising-junior clocked a 4.2-second short shuttle and flashed good speed for the position with a 40-yard dash in the 4.7-second range. Big 12 Spotlight: Five important visits to watch this spring
The calendar has turned to March and each visit prospects take is carrying more weight. Here are several important visits to keep an eye on in the Big 12. THIS SERIES: Key Big Ten visits to watch | Key SEC visits | Key ACC visits CLASS OF 2025 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2027 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State TRANSFER PORTAL: Full coverage | Player ranking | Team ranking | Transfer search | Transfer Tracker Nick Lucero/ The five-star quarterback is always up for a good surprise – like his out-of-nowhere visit to Sacramento State on Friday with Folsom, Calif., teammate Jameson Powell – but BYU is a real contender in his recruitment for numerous reasons. USC, Oregon and a surging Michigan are also very involved with Lyons. But both of his parents went to school at BYU, there is a religious consideration there and the five-star quarterback talked highly about BYU last weekend at the Rivals Camp. Lyons hasn't finalized visit dates to all of his favorites yet but he's expected back at BYU and that's clearly huge. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OTHER BYU FANS AT There is a good chance that Florida, Miami, Georgia and others end up battling it out for Johnson because he's shown a lot of interest in Southeast schools. But the North Fort Myers four-star defensive tackle is visiting Colorado next weekend and it could be a game-changer for him. The Buffaloes have made him a priority and have been showing a ton of interest, plus there is another massive connection there. North Fort Myers is also CU coach Deion Sanders' alma mater and it could be a big deal once Johnson starts focusing in on a decision. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH COLORADO FANS AT Pulelei'ite Primus April is going to be a massive month across the country – one of the busiest of the calendar, as if they're not all busy now – and Texas Tech will have its fair share of official visits. One of the biggest – literally – and most important will be Primus, a 6-foot-4, 326-pound four-star offensive lineman from Midland, Texas. Arizona State is one to watch in his recruitment but with more than 20 offers, Primus has a ton of options. Less than two hours away from Lubbock, these are the kinds of recruiting battles the Red Raiders need to win. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TEXAS TECH FANS AT Nick Lucero/ A former Washington commit, Tafa backed off that pledge in recent months and then said last weekend at the Rivals Camp Series event in California that Utah and USC are his two frontrunners. The Utes will host Tafa in late June and the Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon standout will also visit USC again before making any decisions, which should happen prior to his senior season. His relationship with the Utah staff paired with campus being so close to his family, the Utes might be able to close the deal after his late June trip. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH UTAH FANS AT A whole round of visits are coming up for Webb whether to Colorado and then a fleet of official visits with Texas Tech, Baylor, SMU, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU and Oklahoma planned starting in April. With more than 30 offers, Webb has his selection on where he wants to play but his relationship with the Baylor staff is definitely strong. There have been some SMU rumors floating around, so the Bears have to keep winning some of these regional recruiting battles to succeed – and for coach Dave Aranda to keep his job.
