East Ayrshire Leisure appealing for volunteers to help upcoming running events
Volutneers are needed for four events set to take place in the coming months.
East Ayrshire Leisure are appealing for volunteers to help support a series of running events in the coming months.
Four popular events are set to take place between June and September, but they rely on the support of local volunteers to help ensure a safe and welcoming experience for both participants and spectators.
The first event, Roon the Toon, takes place on Sunday, June 8 starting at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena in Kilmarnock.
Volunteers are needed between 8.30am and 12pm to assist with crowd movement and provide a warm welcome to runners and visitors.
Additional events in the calendar include:
• Cairn Table Hill Race – Wednesday, July 16, Cairn Table, 6–9pm (approx.), Muirkirk
• K6 and K12 Ultramarathons – Sunday, August 3, Dean Castle Country Park, various times
• River Ayr Way Ultramarathon – Saturday, September 13, from Muirkirk to Ayr, various times
Volunteer roles vary by event and may include marshalling, supporting water stops, and helping to maintain course safety.
No prior experience is required, and full guidance will be provided.
