Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajkummar Rao-Wamiqa Gabbi's movie marks decent opening, mints...

Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Collection Day 1: The sci-fi romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi witnessed a decent release day collection on Friday, May 23. The time-loop-based Bollywood movie was embroiled in a controversy over its theatrical release. Set in Varanasi, audience and film critics gave mixed reviews for Bhool Chuk Maaf and claimed that the movie lacked freshness and was similar to other offerings of Roa. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Bhool Chuk Maaf witnessed a decent opening day collection of ₹ 6.75 crore on Friday. The movie is likely to see improved numbers over the weekend. On May 23, Bhool Chuk Maaf recorded an overall footfall of 19.36 per cent, according to Sacnilk. In the morning shows, occupancy was 9.40 per cent, which gradually improved over the day to rise to 31.27 per cent at night. Chennai had the maximum occupancy, 71 per cent. Jaipur had the second-best occupancy, 32.75 per cent, followed by Bengaluru and Delhi NCR. Maddock Films announced on May 8—just a day after Operation Sindoor, triggered by the Pahalgam terror attack—that it, along with Amazon MGM Studios, decided to 'bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16—only on Prime Video, worldwide.' However, PVR Inox sued the makers, alleging a breach of contract and demanding that the film be released in theatres first. They also pointed out that the agreement included an 8-week window before the movie could be streamed online. A Pinkvilla report said that Bhool Chuk Maaf might debut on Amazon Prime Video in just two weeks, on June 6, despite the mandatory 8-week window. The Amazon Prime description states, 'Ranjan, stuck in a time loop on his wedding day, must fulfil a forgotten promise to escape it. As he sacrifices his dream job for another's greater good, the film highlights compassion over ambition, reminding us of the power of kindness in a self-centred society.' Bhool Chuk Maaf stars Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi, Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, and Zakir Hussain in key roles.

Ecopetrol Will Acquire Ten Renewable Energy Firms from Norway's Statkraft

CEO Ricardo Roa of Colombia's state-owned oil company Ecopetrol S.A. (NYSE:EC) stated on Tuesday that the two companies had reached an agreement to acquire ten wind and solar energy project development companies from Statkraft of Norway. A portfolio of renewable projects with a combined capacity of up to 1.3 gigawatts is part of the agreement, which aims to provide for the firm's domestic energy needs. There was no disclosure of the transaction's value. One project is now underway, and others have no set timeframe but are expected to begin in 2026 or 2027. Legal and regulatory approvals of the agreement are still pending. A fleet of tanker ships crossing the sea as they deliver oil and gas to their destinations. The acquisition reduces Ecopetrol S.A. (NYSE:EC)'s dependency on bilateral agreements and spot market purchases while assisting with its shift to low-emission energy. The projects are spread in the departments of La Guajira, Sucre, Cordoba, Caldas, and Magdalena. Roa claims that the agreement improves the business's energy independence in a market that is very competitive. Jose Castellanos, Statkraft's Colombian representative, stated that the sale marks the Norwegian company's complete withdrawal from the Colombian market. As part of a larger move toward renewable energy, Ecopetrol S.A. (NYSE:EC) also signed an agreement with AES Colombia in April to acquire a 49% stake in the Jemeiwaa Ka'I wind cluster and is currently negotiating the purchase of another wind project with Enel of Italy. While we acknowledge the potential of EC to grow, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. Austria's JJ wins Eurovision Song Contest, Entertainment News

Austria's JJ has won the Eurovision Song Contest. The 24-year-old singer's track Wasted Love took victory in Basel, Switzerland on Saturday (May 17) night following a tense vote, which, although he had topped the jury vote with 258 points, went down to the wire as a huge surge from the public scoring had seen Israel's Yuval Raphael flying up the standings, leaving JJ to need 100 from the public to win. He bagged 178 more points in the public vote, claiming victory with a total of 436. Taking to the stage, JJ tearfully said: "I want to thank my entire family, my entire team, thank you so much for making my dreams come true. And especially to you Europe, thank you for making my dreams come true. "Love is the strongest force in the world, let's spread more love. "Thank you so much." He then performed Wasted Love again. After the jury vote, which saw Austria take a 44-point lead over second-placed Switzerland - who ultimately plummeted to 10th after receiving nothing from the public - JJ was visibly nervous. He held up his shaking hands and said: "This is insane, thank you so, so much to the entirety of Europe for letting us be the jury winners." The UK's entry from Remember Monday, What the Hell Just Happened?, scored 88 points from the juries, including a maximum 12 points from Italy, but for the second year in a row received zero from the public, leaving them in 19th place out of 26, one position below last year's entrant Olly Alexander. Iceland's Vaeb, whose song was called Roa, received zero points from the jury, but ended in 25th place after taking 33 points from the public votes. The lowest-placed entry was San Marino's Gabry Ponte, who performed Tutta l'Italia. [[nid:674628]]
