Popular Salsa Sold at Costco Recalled for Potential Wood Contamination
Costco just alerted customers that one of its suppliers, SupHerb Farms of Turlock, CA ('SupHerb'), recalled cilantro used to make many tubs of San Juan Salsa Co. salsa products, sold at select Northwest Costco locations.
SupHerb voluntarily recalled one of its large cut cilantro, referred to as the 'Lot,' as the field it was grown in was found to be contaminated with small wood particles. The herb was included in San Juan Salsa Co. products between 12/19/2024 to 3/17/2025. No salsa products produced after March 17 contain the cilantro in question.
While many items are being recalled across stores nationwide, only one item was sold at Costco. As of April 24, no one has been injured from enjoying one of these Name: Costco San Juan Salsa Co. Salsa, Medium, 32 oz

If you have any of the recalled products, do not eat them. It's unclear if Costco is offering a refund now, but you can try returning it—especially if the product is still in your fridge or freezer. Otherwise, throw away the affected products.
