2 George County deputies to be added to National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial
GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WKRG) — Two George County Sheriff's Office deputies who died while having been a member of the force are being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Grand Bay man accused of human trafficking: Mobile police
Deputy Robert 'Bobby' Daffin Jr. and Deputy Jeremy Malone are two of 345 names being added to the wall in 2025, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund website.
Deputy Daffin was a 14-year narcotics officer for the sheriff's office when he died at 37 years old after contracting COVID-19 while on the job in 2021.
Deputy Malone died four days into 2024 after a routine traffic stop turned into a shooting at the Dollar General on Highway 98 in Lucedale.
148 officers on this year's list died in 2024, and 197 of them died before 2024.

There are currently 24,412 names on the memorial wall.
