USACE to reduce services at Table Rock Lake amidst staffing shortages

BRANSON, Mo. — Some services at Table Rock Lake will be limited for the time being, starting on Thursday, June 13, due to safety concerns and staffing shortages at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, according to the USACE Little Rock District. USACE says its employees will shift its focus to core recreational operations as it faces these staffing challenges while trying to ensure visitor safety during peak recreational season. Service changes include scaling back Dewey Short Visitor Center Hours to Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., although Summer School and tour requests can still be made by calling (417) 213-4812 or emailing Branson completes Phase 1A of Downtown Streetscape Project The shift in staffing will also cause delays for Shoreline Use Permit requests, such as dock and vegetative management requests. 'USACE has carefully evaluated all available options to align staffing levels with operational needs. Decisions took both short-term and long-term priorities into account,' USACE says in a news release. 'As conditions change or additional resources become available, USACE will reassess and make the necessary adjustments.' The USACE Little Rock District says the reduced services will remain until staffing levels improve and they make sure conditions are safe enough for expanded operations.
