RICO Sheriff's Office investigates death of person found injured in Milan

The death of an unidentified person found early Saturday is being investigated by the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department, according to a news release. Shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, Rock Island County deputies responded to the 5100 block of Airport Road, Milan, 'for a subject lying in the roadway,' the release says. Deputies found a person lying in the roadway 'with significant injuries.' The person was transported to UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, then later was transported to University Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, where the person 'succumbed to their injuries.' Vehicle debris was located at the scene, but no vehicle was found in the immediate area, the release says. The Rock Island County Sheriff's Office – which was assisted by Milan Police, Moline Police, Blackhawk Fire Department, and AMT Ambulance – is investigating the incident .
