Oban and Kingussie share spoils at top of Premiership
Oban Camanachd missed a chance to dislodge Kingussie from the top of the Mowi Premiership when the two high fliers drew 1-1 at Mossfield. Fort William sustained their first league defeat and dropped to third when they lost 2-0 at home to Skye. Newtonmore's progress continued with a 2-0 defeat of visitors Lovat, and Beauly grabbed their first point in a 1-all draw away to Kyles. It was goalless between Kinlochshiel and Caberfeidh. Kingussie went in front through Roddy Young on the hour and seemed to be holding on until Daniel MacVicar equalised with six minutes left, but there was to be no late winner. Dan MacDonald gave Skye the breakthrough after quarter of an hour and doubled their lead early in the second half, with Fort unable to respond. These two games could have produced any of three different leaders but Kingussie remain one point clear of Camanachd while Fort drop to third, a further point behind and with a game in hand. Euan Dingwall and Matthew Sloss, both in the second half, lifted Newtonmore to just a further point adrift of a top three place. Roan MacVicar scored early for Kyles but Beauly refused to crumble and struck back before half time with an equaliser from Iain Hunter. Bute and Col Glen continued their pursuit of National Division leaders Lochaber. In Rothesay, Bute edged Glenurquhart 1-0 just a week after their spectacular 5-0 drubbing of the same opponents on the road. Meanwhile in Cannich, it was 3-1 for Col Glen against hosts Strathglass who still remain pointless. The English Shinty Association only makes rare forays north to compete in minor cup ties, but did so in style with a 7-1 eclipse of Stirling in the Bullough Cup at Yoker.

Kingussie into final as Fort William remain unbeaten
Holders Kingussie swept into the semi finals of the WM Donald MacTavish Cup - shinty's North area championship - with a 5-1 home win over Skye. Fort William also maintained their unbeaten record in all competitions when they edged Kinlochshiel 1-0 at Rearaig,Lovat eliminated local rivals Glenurquhart 3-1 in Drumnadrochit, and in the other derby tie Lochaber edged visitors Kilmallie the South area championship, the Scottish Sea Farms Celtic Society Cup, Kyles swept Col Glen aside 5-0, while Inveraray progressed by the same scoreline away to Oban Celtic and Glasgow Mid Argyll defeated Bute 4-1 at was all over by half time in Kingussie where Roddy Young's second-minute opener was cancelled out in seconds by Dan MacDonald. However Young proceeded to complete a hat trick alongside goals from Ryan Borthwick and Thomas MacMillan scored the vital goal for Fort William late in the first MacLachlan put Lovat 2-0 up at half time. Daniel MacLean pulled one back for Glen but Lewis Tawse restored Lovat's two goal advantage after just three MacDonald and Shaun Nicholson put Lochaber 2-0 up just before half time and it was onto the last quarter hour before Seamus MacFarlane and Innes Blackhall struck back. Stuart Callison's winner for Lochaber came in the penultimate south, Kyles completed the job in the first half with two each from Roan MacVicar and James Pringle and a single from Luke Oban, Ewan Donnan opened for Inveraray on half time before a Fraser Watt double, Neil Campbell and Ruaridh Graham clinched it in the second from Calum McLay and one from Cailean MacLeod sent Mid Argyll 3-0 up after just eight minutes. Ryan Craig struck back for Bute in the second half and Logan Adam quickly MacNiven and Iain Robinson edged Newtonmore away from the Premiership relegation zone, condemning Beauly to a seventh consecutive defeat.

Fort William extend unbeaten run despite draw
Fort Williiam's phenomenal return to the Mowi Premiership continued when they extended their unbeaten run to five games with a stoppage time 2-2 draw at was a first defeat for Oban Camanachd, 3-1 away to thrashed pointless Beauly 8-0 and Kyles conceded first in advance of a 4-2 defeat of Lovat at Skye shocked Newtonmore with a 3-1 win at The Eilan in the first round of the WM Donald MacTavish took Lachie Shaw just eight minutes to put Fort William ahead at The Dell and Roddy Young equalised midway through the first half. Michael Slimon then looked to have won it for Kingussie before Shaw emerged again in the 94th minute to deny the champions. Kingussie remain top by a point, but Fort have a game in hand.A trademark first-minute Craig Morrison goal put Caberfeidh ahead in advance of Ross Campbell's equaliser. Charlie Ferguson and Blair Morrison then won it for Cabers in the second half.A John MacRae hat-trick, two each from Keith MacRae and Ali Nixon, and a single from Zander MacRae for Kinlochshiel saw off struggling Beauly on the west coast.A quickfire Connor Kennedy double in response to Graeme MacMillan's opener for Lovat gave Kyles the edge. James Pringle for Kyles then Bailey MacKay for the home side made it 3-2 at half-time and Ross MacRae grabbed a late fourth for a goalless first-half in the MacTavish tie, Skye's Ruaraidh MacLeod broke the deadlock, Joe Coyle equalised and MacLeod edged Skye ahead again before a Daniel Sloss own goal tied things early goal from Ben Delaney gave unbeaten National Division leaders Lochaber a 1-0 home win over Glenurquhart.
