After series of family deaths, Oklahoma man found dead with children and dog in home

Representative image A 58-year-old Oklahoma man, Rodney Shippy, fatally shot his 10-year-old son and the family dog before taking his own life inside their home. Police made the grim discovery on Wednesday while serving a search warrant after relatives reported Rodney's 20-year-old daughter, Alyssa Shippy, missing since November. Officers initially found the bodies of Rodney, his son Logan, and the dog. Alyssa's body was later discovered inside the same home. Due to the condition of the house, her remains were not immediately visible, police said. A medical examiner is working to determine her cause of death. "We are heartbroken to share that two beloved members of our family, Alyssa and Logan (brother and sister) passed away tragically and unexpectedly," their family wrote on a GoFundMe page. "Their loss has left our family in deep grief and unprepared for the financial burden that comes with arranging their funerals," they added. This is the latest in a string of tragedies to hit the family. In August 2022, Rodney's wife, Lisa Shippy, died by suicide at the same residence. Five months later, Lisa's mother, Diane Carpenter, was stabbed to death by her husband, Kenny Carpenter, who later took his own life during a police standoff in January 2023, according to the New York Post. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Truque caseiro eficaz contra o bigode chinês (faça hoje mesmo) Notícias | Beleza | Mulher Saiba Mais Undo A motive behind the tragic killings remains unknown. They described the family's home as "not suitable" for children, pointing to poor living conditions. "Not suitable for a child, no running water, trash - looked like a completely different house," said relative Patti Williams. Police show up after dad kills son, dog and himself - then find something worse

Police uncovered the bodies of a dad, his 10-year-old son and the family dog inside the home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma - before a search turned up another member of the same family Police attending a home where a dad had killed his son, dog and himself made an even more gruesome discovery when they searched inside the property. Rodney Shippy, 58, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after allegedly killing his 10-year-old son, Logan, in a suspected murder -suicide. Officers also discovered the family dog dead inside the home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma during the search on Wednesday - and soon after located the body of the body of 20-year-old daughter Alyssa, who had not been been seen since November. It was the same house where the childrens' mother Lisa, 41, had tragically taken her life three years earlier. ‌ ‌ Police have not officially identified the woman found inside the house this week, but relative Patti Williams identified her as Alyssa while speaking to local television station KJRH. Officers had been dispatched to the property after worried out-of-state relatives reported that they had not seen the young woman in several months. They had grown concerned about her and the family's welfare after a video this year showed the home in a state of serious disrepair, with rubbish strewn across multiple rooms. ‌ Patti described the conditions there as "not suitable for a child" and said there was "no running water" inside the house. Paying tribute to the two children, she described Logan as "so smart and "eager to learn", and called Alyssa a "bright light in this world". ‌ A GoFundMe page has now been set up to cover their funeral costs, and has so far raised $2,300 (£1,700) of a $4,000 (£2,900) target. A statement from Broken Arrow Police Department on Wednesday night said: "Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and neighbours affected by this incident. Anytime a life is lost in our community, especially a child, it is a tragedy. "This afternoon, shortly after 4 PM, officers served a search warrant related to a missing person investigation involving 20-year-old Alyssa Shippy. Her disappearance was recently reported to our department by out-of-state relatives. ‌ "Upon entering the residence, officers discovered an adult male with apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds, as well as a juvenile male, and a dog, all dead. Due to the condition of the home, investigators have since located an additional body believed to be an adult female." A later update read: "We can now confirm the adult male found dead inside the house is 58-year-old Rodney Shippy. The juvenile male found dead is his 10-year-old son. We will not be releasing his name. "At this time, the identity of the woman found dead has not been confirmed. The medical examiner will conduct a full investigation to make a positive identification. However, we can confirm, Alyssa Shippy is Rodney's daughter.", *If you're struggling and need to talk, the Samaritans operate a free helpline open 24/7 on 116 123. Family Of 3 And A Pet Dog Found Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide Case In US

A 58-year-old man in the US fatally shot his 10-year-old son and the family dog before turning the gun on himself inside their home in Oklahoma. According to the New York Post, police found the bodies of Rodney Shippy, Logan Shippy and a dog on Wednesday while serving a search warrant after concerned relatives reported that Mr Shippy's daughter, Alyssa, had been missing since November. Cops later also found the 20-year-old's lifeless body inside the home. Due to the "condition of the home," the body wasn't initially seen by officers, police said, adding that a medical examiner is working to confirm her cause of death. "We are heartbroken to share that two beloved members of our family, Alyssa and Logan (brother and sister) passed away tragically and unexpectedly," the children's grief-stricken family wrote on a GoFundMe. "Their loss has left our family in deep grief and unprepared for the financial burden that comes with arranging their funerals," they added. According to the Post, the incident marks the latest in a series of tragic deaths that have haunted the family since August 2022, when Rodney Shippy's wife, Lisa Shippy, killed herself at the same house. Five months later, Ms Shippy's mother, 56-year-old Diane Carpenter, was stabbed to death by her husband, 66-year-old Kenny Carpenter, who then shot himself during a four-hour standoff with police in January 2023. A motive behind the heinous slaying remains unknown, however, public records suggest that Mr Shippy was on the verge of losing his house, which he purchased with his wife in 2021. In January earlier this year, the US Bank National Association filed a foreclosure notice on the house, citing $135,000 in unpaid principal. The 58-year-old was given until June to respond to the court notice, records showed. As the investigation continues, neighbours said that 10-year-old Logan Shippy had autism and was nonverbal. They also described the house as "not suitable" for children, adding that the father became increasingly isolated following his wife's death. "Not suitable for a child, no running water, trash - looked like a completely different house," relative Patti Williams said. "Rodney seemed to be holding it together for months after (Lisa) passed ... then he started estranging himself from everyone," the relative added.

Police arrive at home of dad who killed son, 10, in murder-suicide and make an even more horrifying discovery

A father murdered his autistic son and their family dog before turning the gun on himself inside their Oklahoma home, police said. Rodney Shippy, 58, was found inside his Broken Arrow abode dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after allegedly killing his son Logan, 10. Police discovered the two, and their dead dog, on Wednesday while serving a search warrant after relatives reported Shippy's daughter Alyssa missing since November. Horrifyingly, the body of 20-year-old Alyssa was also found inside the home in a state of decay. According to KJRH, the children's mother Lisa, 41, took her own life inside the address back in August 2022. Five months after that Lisa's step-father Kenneth Carpenter murdered her mother, Diane, and then killed himself, the outlet reported. Police have not officially announced the identity of the woman found inside the address, but the outlet spoke with relative Patti Williams who confirmed it was Alyssa. She said: '[Rodney] seemed to be holding it together months after [Lisa] passed. Then he started estranging himself to everyone'. Logan had his own YouTube account and would frequently post videos of the garage door at the property, something he was fascinated by - Williams said. One video from March gave a detailed tour of the house, which is strewn with rubbish and in a state of disrepair. It was that video that alerted family members. Spent beer cans, cardboard boxes, old water bottles can be seen littering the ground inside the home as their cat and dog roam around the rubbish. Towards the end of the clip Rodney can be seen laying on a bed inside the property playing Minecraft as his soon films the mounds of detritus surrounding him. Williams said: 'Not suitable for a child, no running water, trash. Looked like a completely different house. 'Logan was so smart, eager to learn, everyone who met him loved him. Alyssa was a bright light in this world.' 'She had a beautiful life ahead of her, and I feel like their lives are stolen from them', Williams added. A GoFundMe has since been launched for the remaining family to cover the funeral costs of the children. It says: 'Their loss has left our family in deep grief and unprepared for the financial burden that comes with arranging their funerals. 'We are reaching out to our community, friends, and loved ones for support during this unimaginable time. 'Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward funeral expenses and helping our family honor their memories with the love and dignity they deserve.' In a statement, Broken Arrow Police Department said: 'We can now confirm the adult male found dead inside the house is 58-year-old Rodney Shippy. 'The juvenile male found dead is his 10-year-old son. We will not be releasing his name. 'At this time, the identity of the woman found dead has not been confirmed. The medical examiner will conduct a full investigation to make a positive identification. However, we can confirm, Alyssa Shippy is Rodney's daughter.'
