Michigan plant will remain available for future operations
(NewsNation) — The J.H. Campbell power plant in Michigan will remain open after a late emergency order from the Trump administration. Michigan Republican State Sen. Roger Victory joined 'The Hill' on Friday to discuss a string of scheduled coal plant closures in 2025, including the J.H. Campbell Power Plant, revealing he received a notice from the U.S. Department of Energy that the plant will now remain available. It was scheduled to be closed as early as June, but with the executive order, its imminent closure has been avoided. 'This is the first step in the process, but I'm glad that the Trump administration has listened to our concerns, especially for us in the Midwest,' Victory said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. To The Point: Sen. Roger Victory on the year ahead
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — On this 'To The Point', what one legislator thinks about the governor's plan for the year ahead. Veteran lawmaker state Sen. Roger Victory, R-Hudsonville, talks about what the new year could bring and if he's optimistic that there will be positive change in Lansing. 'Every year, I have to be optimistic because when I plant that seed in the ground and take that risk every season, there's never a guarantee. But if I wasn't optimistic as famers have to be, you'd never start that spring season by planting. So as the spring season's going to be here, let's a little figuratively be planting those seeds of opportunity in Lansing, and let's have a harvest this fall,' he said. All that and more on this 'To The Point' episode for the weekend of March 8. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
