Andhra Pradesh liquor scam: SIT police continue raids on various locations in Telangana
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) police continued its raids on the suspects in the alleged liquor scam at various locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.
Police teams conducted searches on multiple locations in Hyderabad on Tuesday (May 13, 2025), and the raids were continuing. Raids were conducted on the companies for which P. Rohit Reddy, who was suspect in the liquor scam, was the director.
SIT carried our raids at Shaikpet, Gudi Malkapur, Rajendranagar, Yakutpura and other locations. Earlier, police conducted searches on the houses of the accused in Vijayawada.
It was alleged that the YSR Congress party floated some shell companies and diverted the money earned through illegal means in the liquor scam.
Meanwhile, SIT will produce Bharati Cements director Balaji Govindappa in the court in Vijayawada on Wednesday (May 14, 2025).
Balaji Govindappa, who was reportedly absconding in the case, was picked up at Mysore on Tuesday (May 13, 2025) and was being shifted to Vijayawada on Prisoner Transit Warrant.
